Default phamspeed guys here!

Iam tapping the oil pan, but I started the car and oil started pouring out from both ends of the turbo. It seems like theres not enough pressure to pull the oil back into the pan. Why is that? Maybe the return oil line is not a steep enough angle for gravity to push. Anyone have pics? Also since oil started to come out from the turbo into the filter and down pipe, could that have caused any damage inside the turbo? Any signs i should look for. Please help that is my last obsticle and then Iam done! Please help. thanks

Me and Hellraiser both ran into this problem, what turbo do you have first? GT42 or a T76GTS??

Yeah it's a bad set up, bad oil drain back....I fashioned a drainback line that is part hardline and part flexible rubber hose. The hard line keeps the slope going down towards the pan and the rubber hose acts like a joint to provide flex on both ends.

Post up a pic or two of how your line goes. I also had to restrict the flow of oil going to the turbo as did hellraiser.

Work on your drain line first before trying to restrict the turbo.

You can't use the oil drain fitting they give with the kit. The straight on that goes into the turbo. I am not sure if they still give that one or not but I don't see anyway you can get that to work.

I have something like frcefed98 has. I went to home Depot and got a 1/2" (I think it was) pipe setup that goes in to that flange they give you where your would screw that staright fitting into (bottem of the turbo) then it had a 90 elbow on it and about 3-4" of 1/2" pipe with a brass nipple on the end that the rubber hose goes onto then goes into the oil pan.

I will take a picture for ya.....

I used the aluminum fitting that bolts to under the turbo then went to home depot got what I think was 1/2" threads male style on both sides, maybe it was 1" long, got a 1/2" 90 elbow female style. So I have the one end going into that turbo flange and then the other into the elbow. Now I got like a 3" long pipe fitting to go into the other end of the elbow and at the end of the pipe is a nipple so I could put the rubber hose on it.

Work great but when I really have to het the brakes hard I get a little smoke. Nothing like it was before.

As you can see the turbo still leaks some.

2 things I don't like about this kit
1. the turbo sits to low IMO
2. the way the exhaust runs on the drivers side.

I was thinking about cutting the ypipe right b4 the flange and welding two pipes so that the turbo sits a little higher.

If you can get the turbo higher without any problems I say go for it.

As for the waste gate, I have mine hooked up to my e-boost
and the BOV is tapped into my brake booster.

No heat problems. I do throw my belt off. 3 times now twice on the way home from work and once on the dyno...............

Ya. It controls boost with a little electric selenoid.
There is 2 fittings that are ont eh wastegate. 1 gets used the other doesnt. Teh one that is farthest from the valve on the top portion of the wastegate isnt used. The one that is on teh lower side of the wastegate hooks up to your boost controller. Weather you got a manual boost controller of a electronic controller they both hook up there.
The BOV hooks up to ANY vaccume sorce you have. Some people use the brake booster line to tap all thier **** into. I use the vaccume line that comes off the TB adn goes to the FPR. I have a 4 way there. 1 to teh boost gauge and 1 to teh BOV. I have my manual boost controller hooked up to the nipple off the turbo. GL man

got a question for the under hood temps, would wraping the hot side of the turbo with some heat sleaves that you buy at summit/jegs really help alot for underhood temps? possibly gaining a ponie or two?
