Why is it that the procharger setups for 4.6 GT Mustangs are so much cheaper than the procharger setups for LS1's? It just isnt fair!

Just looking at prices online, LS1 P-1SC kit is $4,709.99; 4.6 Mustang GT P-1SC kit is $3,596.40!! Over a thousand dollar difference for the same stuff?

id bet one reason is that the mustang kits have looked the same for about 30 years now its those brand new mustang kits will cost more

I have yet to see a procharger kit for a mustang come with 2 intercoolers, a air box plenum, a radiator support shroud, air pump relocation kit and an electric fan.

Sometimes the little things in the kit are what makes one more than the other.

slow, you say in your sig you are installing a vortech? What is your predicted rwhp? I havent heard a ton about vortechs on ls1's and would like to know more. Thanks

I am targeting about 450 rwhp on a mustang dyno. However, plans are currently up in the air, as a TT setup is becoming more of a reality, and less of a fantasy.

What is your goals with the vehicle? The vortechs are great for a bolt on and make good power, but there are benefits and weaknesses to both the pro-charger and the vortech units. The vortech has a small G trim unit, where you can get a pro-charger with a D1SC which will support tons more power.

I have a the Vortech V-9 SQ with aftercooler. I'm only pushing 6lbs of boost with my bolt ons and put down 476 rwhp on a dynojet.... Drives like stock till you mash the pedal and then the fun begins the water to air aftercooler keeps the air extra cool. So far I have nothing but great things to say about the kit. I'm gonna drop down the pulley size soon and get the 9lbs the kit is designed for and see where the HP go's from there.
