Default What can I realistically expect from this Vortech?

New to boost and since I can't finish the SC install till next week I thought I'd play the "What's it gonna do?" game to keep me occupied.

Installing a Vortech V2 SQ Trim @ 7lbs

Any guesses before I get back to the track with this thing? Car has gone a best of 12.36 @ 110.82 on motor in good weather. Lately in the heat it's going from 12.60's to 12.90's depending.

Only a guess but i'd say I am putting down around 330rwhp right now - previous to a tune it put down 318/356.

Current mods at the cardomain site. I know it's not optimal for boost but I think if I play it safe it may last until this Winter - hopefully longer.

What are your estimates?

I don't have an estimate for you, but I will say that the S-trim is much stronger than people give it credit for. The SQ is the same as the S, just quieter and with a tiny bit faster step-up ratio. My buddy went 9.60 @ 140mph with a true s-trim in a FOX body car.

Don't look for nines , but I would think that it would be a solid low 11 second ride or faster just depends on to many variables to make guesses right now. Good luck.

Not even close - i'm guessing personally in the 11.50-11.70 range @ 115 - 119

415-430 rwhp

I have no idea - totally new to boost. Just playing this game while I slowly wait out the install.

Hoping to make good progress tonight.

you should put down 450 give or take a few ponies.

You can expect a big grin on your face when you hit the gas!

as far as et's goes, that's dependent on you and how well your car hooks. should be good for a 11.4 with a 1.7 60 foot.

With 460 rwhp I ran 11.50 @ 127 and 2.0 60' times 3862 weight unless the scales were wrong. But Jeff aka-(Got Me SoM) said it best I have seen people go faster with a lot less your a big part of the equation. Good luck.

Nice - that's a bit more than I expected but i'll take it. Buddy of mine says that since I cut low 1.7's pretty regular on bracket night that he wouldn't be surprised if the car went 11.30's in good weather.

I've cut a best of 1.68 60' and have the car down in weight to about 3450 with driver. It was full weight on the 12.360 run - in April weather. I should be able to beat that just with the weight reductions that i've done since then.

We'll see shortly - hopefully this coming Saturday when we resume bracket racing.

Congrats on the Vortech! My SC-trim put down 535rwhp on my LS6 with Dynamax LTs and Borla "Stingers." I've since gone with a blower cam, AFR 205s and upgraded to the SC T-trim (something you might consider if you do many other mods.) Vortech can up-grade your existing head unit. I'm @ 621rwhp right now.

My T-trim when I got it back from Vortech:

Damn - they did some nice work on that thing. Is that a brand new unit or do they modify the old version to bring it up to new specs and clean it?

That is a T-trim a whole different head unit than the G-trim or yours. Different bracket.

Todd's car really impressed me, those numbers were thru a 12 bolt, mac headers, and with the aftercooler pump dead. The past two or three vortech cars I've done have all turned out really good. Vortech's kit is really nice for the money.. the only thing I don't like about the kit is where the aftercooler sits.

They change the gears in your existing head unit.

Yes stock LT1 engines. And those numbers are like four years old. I'm sure high 10's are doable with the right combo.

Dyno tuned last night - ended with 437.1/475.0 after adjusting the A/f ratio. Hit 461/480 but was a tad bit lean - the car is breaking up pretty bad tho, something ignition related.
