Default So what about the Powerdyne kit???

Everyone talks about Vortech & Proharger pro's & cons so what about Powerdyne??? The price seems right on the base 6psi kit. Any major cons about this kit??? Seems like it would be ideal for a mostly stock street car IMO.

I may not know much about em. But one thing that you'll keep reasing when you do some research on this site is to stay away from them.

I've never talked to anyone who has purchased a Powerdyne supercharger is is pleased with the performance of the blower. They tend not to make as much boost as advertised, and the internal belt gives a lot of people problems. Bob

I had a powerdyne on my Hawk for a while. It is a decent kit, but you will always have problems with belt slip (it runs off the backside of your main accessory belt. It made 450 to the wheels, but it started slipping before 6000 all the time, and you have to pull the head unit to change the belt. If you get a used one, upgrade your fans, and get a good tensioner, you can have a fun street car.

I made 430 all day long with mine.
Zero problems except dealing with cooling.
Same issue you would have with the ATI too.

I would never tell anybody to pay full price but if you can pick one up for $1000 its a good introduction to FI and really hard to blow your engine up with one cause you cant get more than 6psi out of it
