Default FAST 90/90 & a turbo?

I thought the FAST 90/90 combo worked best for NA engines, but a fella I know keeps telling me I need to go with the FAST 90/90 on my turbo 408 setup.

I'm confused

Turbos like to flow just like everything else. You may not need it as much, though with F/I since the air is being forced into the manifold to keep it at constant pressure.

You'll be happy if you put a 90/90 set up on.

So, is there a FAST 90mm throttle body and a Nick Williams 90mm throttle body? What is the difference?

If guys are making 850rwhp+ with LS6 intake and ported stock TB being forced fed by a turbo/supercharger why drop the $1200+ on a FAST 90/90?

There is a turbo Vette making 1000hp on LS6 intake and ported stock TB....

What are your goals? HP and et/mph?

I would put the money elsewhere personally.

That's what the engine builder said.

I just want to make sure I'm not skipping anything while my engine is getting built.

I'm making 750rwhp thru a stock ported TB and a stock LS6 intake. When I go to the sheet metal intake I have coming I'm not putting a stock TB in front of it.

R uu talkeen to meee?

From what I saw, I would need to lower my engine a few inches to fit a simple plane/elbow setup and fwiw I am getting the intake super cheap so it's not a cost issue.

Default fast 90mm tb

The fast 90mm tb is junk on a forced induction setup. It has a very weak spring combined with it's occasional tendency for the blade to stick!!!! In my experience once my charger stated to blow a little boost into the motor the fast tb liked it so much it decided it didn't want to close!!!

If you contact AaronL you can get a sheetmetal elbow that clears the stock hood. so no need to lower anything

Have him send me one and I will test it against my sheetmetal intake. I don't know who that is.

so my question is , Is it worth the money goin with a fast 90/90 set up vs a ls6 and ported throttle body or even a after market 80+ throttlebody? Or should the money be spent elsewhere?

Well, 3in induction tubing will carry you well over 1000hp, so unless you're at the point where you are being throttled by your induction tubing there will be no gain over a stock throttle body.

If you are being throttled by the 3in induction tubing, than you would gain power with a 90, but only if you ran 3.5 or 4in induction tubing, and at that point you are making the kind of power I have no experience with.
