Default Done fabbing the turbo headers

All of those who went the truck manifold route can suck my 1-3/4" primary tube ***..
I know they aren't much to look out now, but once they're coated, they'll be ready to rock. The passenger side primaries sit about 3/4" higher than the driver's side to allow for a large downpipe. The collectors will be cut when we decide what to do with the x-over and turbo location.
Sorry for the crappy pics- camerafone

Planning on 1200 hp without $1000s into dyno time and several different people working on it. Need to show everyone that HP can be developed by the average Joe with a check book to balance..

that's awesome! how much in material do you think you have into those? i know the truck manifolds are cheap, but i just love the way your setup looks.

If I had to put a price on them, I would probably sell the mild steel ones (ceramic coated) for $650 and 321 stainless for $900.. If you have a big wallet, I'll do some Inconel headers for $1500

relocate the alternator with your headers? what size DP are you looking to run between the k-member and the header? are you looking to run a motorplate or solid mounts or?

On my motor, I will be running solid mounts with some custom fabbed engine and tranny supports, no need to clutter the engine compartment more with motor plates. Still deciding on the alternator- if it remains a streetable car, then I will put the alternator somehwere. Im still undecided on the downpipe, since my turbo will be sitting behind the front bumper, I may just have the outlet come out the side fender infront of the p/s tire..

Haha thats funny. Always nice to see people making their own kits. Maybe I missed this but you planning a single or twin? I'm guessing single since u said downpipe (singular) but you never know. Can't wait to see the project progressing.

edit: just saw the above post, so its a single. what size you plan? T76?

Very nice.

It is nice to do all of the work yourself.

A friend of mine build a custom TT kit on his v6 mustang, trippled the factory rwhp of the vehicle, on a average person's budget. Nice to see somebody try something even more crazy on a lsx car

Looks good but average joe is not going to be able to afford a 1200 hp set up. Unless your just trying to put a nice motor in there and not have it run any times. 1200 hp is alot of power and your going to have to be able to afford everything to go along with it. Your headers do look good though.

Well Im talking about average Joe who doesnt own a shop like Stenod or W2W, who have dyno's and unlimited funds..
When Im all said and done, I'll post the reciept tally.. I bet you it wont be over $15k in purchased mods.. Now if it was an average Joe who didnt know how to work a welder, then it might get a bit expensive..

Nice looking headers. Keep us all posted on your progress. There's nothing better then building something entirely on your own. Your project sounds pretty interesting.

With that big ol' turbo and some nitrous to help it spool, that thing is going to haul!

Nice work man....just send a PM to Nine Ball about sponsorship. He is real good about responding to PMs.

Are you running an iron block? Hope so. Solid mounts and aluminum blocks = trouble

I guess its really dependent on where you start and owning a shop would def. help with some of the fab work. I would hate to see someone who could not weld attempt to do everything...I just spend 2 days strait welding the cage and headers for my project. Be sure to post up some more pics as the project moves along. You work looks very nice.
