White smoke on WOT?

White smoke on WOT? Is this just unburnt fuel?My air-fuel is 12.4-12.6 so im not running rich. Sometimes i smell antifreeze when driving but its usually just for a few seconds then it goes away. Anythoughts?

Re: White smoke on WOT? Well, my coolant seems full and i dont smell antifreeze at all coming through the tailpipes,maybe it wasnt white,but it was a light color,maybe greyish or very light blue? God, i really hope its not coolant. Also,its not dense smoke.Real thin....

Re: White smoke on WOT? A friend of mine was blowiong out whitish smoke out of his '00 T/A 6 speed a few weeks back at ETown. Turns out its rings. I believe their is a TSB for '99-'01 LS1s about that....

Re: White smoke on WOT? i dont know i need some more wot runs to see exactly whats going on, another guy with the vortech setup has the same thing,and he has alot more miles with it than i do, so hopefully its not a bad thing, i really hope not rings, the oil is fine.

Re: White smoke on WOT? White smoke is indication of a blown head gasket.
Other things to check/verify this.
Is your coolant level low, particularly after making several WOT runs? If you are in the initial stages of a cracked or ruptured head gasket, it may take a LOT of hard driving to see actual lower coolant levels.
Take of the radiator cap and top the coolant off. Do you see bubbles stirring at the top?
White smoke (vapor burning off) when the car is not yet warmed up is normal. Vapor at ALL temps is coolant passing into the combustion chamber and burning off as steam and exiting the exhaust.

Black smoke is usually fuel related problems and blue smoke is usually oil related.
White is water/coolant related.
