Default A & A or SDCE Which one is better?

I am ready to upgrade my pulley set up on my procharger, "CAN'T TAKE THE NOISE ANYMORE" I know that SDCE has to use/or requires your original set up to complete the upgrade. I purchased some stuff from A & A and they were great, but who makes a better product.
Opinions please!!!

AFAIK the A&A setup is exclusive to the Corvette.

So basically SDCE is my only choice then I heard they take for ever to get your parts back. I'll have to wait until it's starts to rain.

SDCE took 5 days total for me. That included leaving my home and coming back. It is a great set up and was worth every penny. They did have a situation where some items were delayed, but all small companies have growing pains....SDCE rocks

A & A works 'exclusively' on Corvettes.

SDCE makes a very nice piece but make sure you have the time to order - during the last GP some people's cars were down for two months (you have to send them your original tensioner).

Glad to hear stories of better service like the one above, I may be ordering one soon.

SDCE is great to work with. I had no downtime, cause I sent them an extra bracket. I had bought a steel bracket and had them alter that.

Just a suggestion,
Mike

Where did you buy the steel bracket? ATI?

No ATI only sells the aluminum brackets. The steel brackets were made by a member way back when to reduce torque twist on the blower. We had all kinds of crazy work arounds back in the day before SDCE. I don't remember the guys name who made them nor do I know if he still makes them anymore. All I remember was it was around $100 and he basically coppied the ATI bracket but in steel to add strength.

I had to powdercoat mine to keep it from rusting. Keep that in mind. If it's cheaper to get a second alum bracket then I'd say stick with that. Scott from SDCE claims you don't need the steel bracket with the spring tensioned setup. Not sure why, but I'm sure he could explain it to ya better than I.

For me I already had the bracket and it was only like ~8 lbs. heavier so I went with the added rigidity of the steel bracket.

Do a search on this site and I'm sure you'll find the guys name and contact info.

Mike

[EDIT] Here is a link to the thread:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...el+ATI+bracket In the search i also saw that a company called Tru tech makes a steel bracket as well. Someone said nickel plated and $125 which seems like a better deal to me. But I have no complaints about my bracket. It is solid and has put up with all sort of abuse. My alum got really f'd up after a few "mishaps".

Mike

I talked to SDCE yesterday, they have hired another person and are turning the brackets around in 2 to 3 days. I'm sending mine out today!

SDCE took a little over three months from from shipping out to getting my parts back. Wendy is the worst person I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Every time I called she fed me a different line of crap about why it was taking so long. I was told by the shop doing the work that they could no longer store my car any longer and that it would be towed back to me. I had repeatedly told SDCE to void my order and send my parts back with no luck. I was near buying a plane ticket, it was at the point that I thought that I may have been scammed since I paid up front.

Aside from them being the worse company I have ever dealt with they do make a good product.
