Re: Potential cam for project Evil Twin We ran a 222/222 113 cam in Godspeeds 385. We have done some testing and tried these exact grinds with the TT. We used these grinds on the Buicks because they had big turbos relative to the engine size and the lack exhaust generated at low rpm made them very lazy, this type of profile will help build boost faster and worked great for the GN.
This cam will work OK for you Harlan but there are others that may be more suited as you are getting fairly agressive with the boost, shoot me an e-mail if you need any info.

Its accepted that it is more efficient to open the exhaust valve a little early. The pressure difference between the header/exhaust port (less pressure) and combustion chamber (higher pressure) will pull the exhaust out instead of the piston have to pump it out.
Perhaps since the intake valve is favored more combustion pressure will occur hence more of a pressure differential before/after the valve. Leading to better scavenging?

Re: Potential cam for project Evil Twin I always was tuaght that those kind of grinds were ment to built up a higher exhuast pulse to spool the turbo up and keep response/boost up as well. FWIW <img src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />
