How noisy is your procharger?
I realize the compressor doesn't have a pressurized oiling system... just want to hear what others have to say about this.
Here is mine idling, but keep in mind mine sounds a little different in the manner I described above:
My "Black Gal" Groaning and Cryin' (at idle) (307KB Wav File)

Sitting at 0 MPH and punching, another .wav (78 KB)

I wouldn't worry about it too much. That noise is pretty normal. It does quiet down a bit after you've put some miles on it.
Mine was so loud when I first put it on that I thought something was broke. I called ATI and they said it was normal. I've put ~8000 miles on it and it has quieted down quite a bit. It still has that Clackity-Clack noise but it doesn't sound like the whole car is falling apart anymore.

When the knocking sound is above 1200 RPM or so there is a cause for concern I was told.
I find it ironic that I request a quiet compressor and get this. I'll keep everyone posted.
Welp, just got off the horn with ATI. They said it's normal and will get louder when a car idles low. I don't trust my factory tach and will see if I can get a shop tach. I wonder if I can bump up my idle with my programmer...

Hey Rock
You can just drill out the TB hole a little to bump your idle up. Be careful though. If you raise it more than ~150-200 rpm you'll get a high idle SES light. The light won't hurt performance but it'll get a little annoying being on all the time.
If you drill it out go in 1/64th inch increments and check your idle speed with Atap each time.
Believe me though when I say that the Clackity-Clack will quiet down with some break-in miles. It'll still be noticeable but, it won't sound like you've got a bad crank bearing or something.
How much boost have you seen so far?

I noticed my dowel pins fell out of my crank pulley. I'm calling ATI tommorow to see if they'll send me another, perhaps with welded pins, because that is bull. There is no way they designed them to fall out. I probably drove the car all of 20 easy miles.
Well, it took us about 3.5 hours to do the plug change and check valve install, not bad for a first timer I think.
#8 was the ball buster and was done from underneath with the o2 sensor removed. Didn't even take off the coil packs.

Now about the dowel pins... any feedback??

Aparently I didn't cut enough off of the crank bolt. I cut off of the bolt the equivilent of 2 washers (since they only sent 3, I figured that would be plenty). I used high temp red loctite. The pulley hasn't backed out yet but there is like 1/16" play in it when you really yank that pulley.
They are sending me a new pulley even though this is my fault. Though the same thing would have happend had I used 3 washers. Thumbs up to ATI for taking care of us.
Just a reminder for you guys to install the ATI crank pulley with the dowel pins riding against the spokes of the stock pulley assy. It depends on the rotation direction of the crank which I forget at this point in time.
Wish me luck on getting that bolt out. I slathered that biotch in hi temp loctite.

ATI is working on a one peice assembly to alleviate this problem. No one knows yet if they will include it in all kits, offer it as an upgrade you pay for, or offer it to all ATI owners for free. Time will tell.

Just food for thought guys.
To future ATI customers I'd recommend cutting about ¼" off.
The blower transmission still makes it's sounds, but the klacking has been eliminated. When the first pulley was removed, the inside was worn down and there was aluminum dust insie the stock balancer.
I see about 5 psi with the 3.4" pulley. I have to get someone else to watch it. It's hard to be all the way in it and watch the friggin guages.
Overall though I am pleased. I'm really afraid hammer now with the rear already making noise.
Next on the list: a cut out and a few dyno pulls. Stay tuned.
