The afrs were between 12-13 to 1.I set the maft at 6% rich and 2% lean with no real change in power.Coolant temps were rising on each pull. There are no other engine mods other than tr6s at .35. All other mods are suspension realated.I thought something was wrong ,the car dosnt pull 2nd or 3rd much harder than stock. In 1st it almost will pull the left front tire on launch.

13-1 is too lean...it needs to be 12-1. Are you getting any knock retard? If not, are you holding fuel pressure. Before I got a new pump and wiring my car would just run out of gas. It wouldnt ping tho because the whole motor would just start to lay down due to lack of fuel. Do you have a gauge showing 6 lbs of boost or are you just going by the pulley size?

Actually I think your #s aren't too bad. I'm guessing because you're located in Cali., you decided to stick with the stock cats and JBA headers. I wouldn't be suprised if you picked up 25-30 rwhp with long-tubes and an off-road y-pipe/ or high flow cats.

Thanks for all the info everyone.I used the maft to get a 12 to 1 afr.I have a boost gauge that shows 6lbs .However ,i have no idea if i am holding enough fuel pressure.Right now i have no fp gauge, and the dyno shop dosent have any kind of auto tap, type of setup to check if i am running out of fuel or maxing out the injectors. It runs like a car with to small of a carb. How can i check my fuel volume?I really appreciate any help. I am using 91 octane{L.A} at the track i run 103 VP.

I think it should be a bit higher. For reference I am helping a fellower PD'r and with the 6psi kit, borla cat back and superchips tuning as the only mods and we are at 406/407 (still expect another 8-12hp/tq before we are done), and I made your numbers with the 4.5# pulley. Both are 6 speeds though. Auto's loose more thru the drivetrain but would it be that much?

I agree with shooting for 12.1 Also as cable says are you seeing 6psi at the guage or guessing by the pulley size. Unless you did the fender relocation I doubt you see 6psi with the exhaust you have (which is a good thing btw) don't forget the better your exhaust is the less boost you see but you make more power.

Numbers do sound like a great start though. I think your just a few tweaks away from 400/400

Just looked over your last post again. If you have not switched injectors I GUARANTEE you your running out of injector. I maxed out 30# injectors on the 4.5# kit easily. I would move to 36's if I was you. Thats what I have done and the other guy I mention in this post has done as well.

Thanks blackbird,i do see 6lbs on the gauge and i relocated the filter and maf to the fender.Should i just install larger injectors with no other tuning? if so, what kind and size do you recomend? I know the cats and shorties are hurting me,but shouldnt be taking away 30 hp.Would superchips need to retune for the larger injectors?.

yes you would need them to reprogram for the 36's.
you should also find out what the timing curve looks like on your program. They may be being overly conservative and you could pick up a few ponies. Be carefull there though, if they get too agressive its ping city.

Also if you have superchips programming for you, I don't think you want to be using the MAFT. It may goof up what they are doing.

I would get the 36's and tell them again exactly what you have and let them dial it in.

my A4 car made 370 HP with the 4.5# kit, stock exhaust manifolds (of course one month later it . I think if you are using your stock fuel setup you're probably running out up top. I was running 30#s and running them 100%, I'm switching to 36#s and hoping it will be enough.

GET A FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE!!!! shouldn't even RUN without one, it can tell you alot, and GET AUTOTAP!!!!

Plus, do you have a MAFT?

Ok, here is my plan.Install 36lb injectors, have superchips retune, install fp gauge.Might as well put on some longtubes and offroad pipe.I wish a knew about auto tap before i sold my old laptop to buy my new pc.I will look around for a used lap top.Is auto tap fairly easy to use? im certainly no computer expert.

autotap is easy to use. no substitute for a wideband though. so make sure your tuning with a dyno and wideband.

since your working with superchips I would advise doing all the mods at once then tell them what you have. If you tune now then put long tubes on your gonna be all screwed up again and will need another program, which I assume is more $$$.

You do the longtubes and injectors and get that ***** tuned right I would predict 430/430 all day long.

Make sure to exercise restraint until you know its dialed in or you may be doing a rebuild as well

Good luck, keep us posted. Always like to hear about fellow underdog Powerdyners
