How many have had heads lift off or head bolt failure with boost?

Just curious how much boost/power (mostly talking supercharged here) the stock LS1 can handle without the heads lifting off or head bolt failure. I understand at some point studs need to be installed.
How many have had that sort of issue?

If I remember correctly Tom Byrne has experienced head lifting issues a while ago on his blown LS1 Camaro.
That was no stock motor though. If you’re talking completely stock bottom end, I don’t think you can run enough boost to get into head lifting issues because you’ll blow stock pistons/rings/gaskets first.
Rob Raymer also had head lifting issues, but that was built motor at insane power level

I don't think too many stock motored cars have had the heads lift.
Other things happen first if your not carefull
I've had no problems w/ heads or bolts, and i think i'm up there for boost on a stock motor.

I would call Nick at ARE they have done the most extensive testing with high cylinder pressure NOS stuff and have been playing with turbos as well. I know they went through a load of head gaskets before they found a combo that worked. You'll need some special head gaskets and studs to start with. Also the amount of head bolt/stud torque has to be increased by a fair margin.

as i heard in another post, its not really the bolts stretching or the threads pulling out as much as the head itself deforming between the bolts.. because the mounting part of the head itself is too thin and needs to be cast in iron or redesigned to hold more boost.. i'd like to work on that with a sponsor so somebody email me!
