to water inject or not to water inject that is the question
question is do I go ahead and run the h20 injection or get conservative and just pull timing?
the conservative side of me says take your loss on the h20 injection and go with a conservative tune. the other side says dude, tons of people use h20 injection just think of all the extra power you can produce.
what do you guys think?
Your water use will decrease after 1 to 2 k miles, as the engine gets clean. Water injection dates back to fighters in WW1, The only downside I found is the weight of water.
I think in the end it comes down to whether you want to tinker with the car or just have a nice reliable(is that word allowed in the FI forum ) car that you don't have to worry about filling up with H2O/alky just so you can go WOT.
Personally, I'm not a tinkerer so this FI stuff has really tried my patience with my car. When I finally do get my setup complete the most I want to do is normal maintenance stuff.(plugs, oil, belts, maybe tweak on the MAFT or LS1-edit for weather changes) I'm going to set my timing for the worst conditions and use heads and cam to make up for the lost power.
BTW, I still haven't got the fuel rail I ordered.
Talk to ya later
