Best block for boost applications
I am shooting for the 600-800 horse range on a twin turbo build up. What block is better for this application? I have heard the aluminum blocks start lifting the heads after you get into this power range. any truth to that? Also does anyone know if Valvegod can get the 6.0 iron blocks?
Thanks

Re: Best block for boost applications
I'm pretty sure that you can get the 6.0 block from Valvegod - you may have to wait till he gets one (if not in stock). As far as the best block, I would think that the C5R block would be the best. I am trying to find out the limits of the stock block. I guess I'll have to wait and see how they work out now that more people are going for the higher power levels.

contrary to popular belief, the block is not the problem w/ high cylinder pressures. The heads themselves bend between the bolts.
That's the problem with only 4 bolts per hole.
Now a C5R would be nice, as you can make more power with 427 cu. in. and some boost than say 346 cu. in. and alot of boost.
I should hopefully know just how much you can make on stock cubes and MUCH boost in a couple months.
