I blew a few piston rings with bad programming from superchips after I put in my 12 bolt and reprogrammed the PCM to work with the 3.73s. That program also changed my air/fuel and was running really rich whenever I start the car. Got into the boost and now I have to change the piston rings. I am putting in forged 9.5:1 pistons, the injectors to 42#, and the 9 psi pulley with a 14 psi pulley from Vortech. Also putting a fuel pump in the tank to help the T-rex. What kinda octane would I need, is this a streetable combo? I dont have access to anything but 92 over here. I hear the rods are pretty strong in the LS1 I should be making about 500-525rwhp if I was running 14psi. Should I port my heads as I hear this lowers your boost? Any suggestions appreciated as I am taking the car to the shop Tues. Dont wanna go ahead and do this and find out I need 100 octane just to drive the damn thing!
