Question Supercharger Talk?!?!?!?!

I just bought a 1997 Chevrolet Corvette from an older gentlemen with only 30K miles on it and I was thinking about or better yet going to put a supercharger on it to bring out its FULL POTENTIAL, because I am sure that the older gentlemen very went over 70 mph with it. My question is what would be the best supercharger for the money of course. I am going to put B&B Bullet Exhaust system on it and I do not want to replace the hood. Please let me know what would be the best, from all of your experience!!!!

primarily a street car? street n strip? weekend only all out car?

be more specific on your application. contact A+A Corvette-he is a sponsor===>
He specializes in the Vortech kits.

Other options are ATI, Magnacharger, Kenne Bell

To get the full potential you need to do headers and full exhaust, and should upgrade your fuel system. If its a stick it would be wise to stick in a good clutch.

plan on spending 5-7 grand no matter which poison you choose.

Rememberthis build it once and build it right and you won't have problems later.

KB will be out of the question, along with possibly the other roots style/twin screw systems since i think they require the new hood.

other then that, id say either vortech or ati as mention by get me som.

but plan on having the fuel goodies, including injectors, intank pump, maybe fuel rails...

dont forget youll also need a new clutch if manual or stall if auto, plus supporting mods...

We have installed quite a few ATI ProCharger D-1SC superchargers on LT1/LT4 Corvettes. One of them is shown on my website. We recently installed one on a customer's '94 LT1 Corvette that had 192,000 miles on it! The car runs great, the customer is the original owner and knows the engine could go at any time, but he is not worried about it. He called and told me that the car now gets 4 more mpg than what it did before!
I order the kits from ATI minus the FMU (fuel management unit) as we do our own tuning which is much more involved than just sticking an FMU on the car, and setting the pressure. We install 42 lb fuel injectors, a Holley/Walbro forced induction fuel pump and install and tune the D-1SC on my Mustang Chassis Dyno for $8,200 complete, including all parts needed. Bob
