Aux Pump vs. In-Tank?
What are the adv/disadvantages of each setup?
Install time for each?
Would the Aux setup be more failsafe?
The Walbro 340 & 42# seems a popular setup using stock lines. Do you need to modify the stock Fuel Pressure Regulator?

Re: Aux Pump vs. In-Tank?
Thx!
Some of the aux boost pumps are rated pretty hi tho, like the top end Aeromotive, right?
How much install time for a Walbro 340?
Can y'all explain the fuel pressure regulator purpose, stock capabilities and what to use/why to upgrade the FPR?

Re: Aux Pump vs. In-Tank?
You have a Corvette correct, if so I am not sure whats required to change out the pump. The fuel pressure regulator should be boost referenced so that as boost increases you get an equal increase in fuel pressure. That way the delta between manifold pressure and fuel pressure stays constant. The stock is not adjustable.

Thx, ya C5. They phased out the adjustables in '98 I believe. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> Ya, not sure how much time req'd to swap out the pump.
What kind of boost referenced regulators are people using with the Walbro 340's? Anyone have a price/part#/source?
What happens if you use the stock one? Pressure will fall under boost even with the 340?
TIA!

Intake would be better and add a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator either at the rails or back at the stock return point. You can cap the stock regulator in the tank or some people have left it in that way you will at least maintain 58 psi if the external craps out.

Re: Aux Pump vs. In-Tank?
The pressure may not fall (said might not) with the stock regulator but the delta across injectors will fall, which means you are getting less fuel in. Most people are using the the big aeromotive regulator, the one that supports like 1000 hp, not sure on the part number. Somebody should remember it. I still have a small regulator that aeromotive makes for the lt1 cars that has been modified with the gm push-on fittings. I would not recommend it because it can be pretty erratic with a base pressure of 58 psi + boost, it was designed for a base pressure of 43 psi +boost. So its not really design for that high of pressure, and actually is referenced of vacuum instead of boost, so that it works a little better with the Incon Setup.
