Default T-Trim?

I have the Vortech 9lb kit, runs pretty well. I am looking into doing a 422 iron block and would like to keep the blower. I don't think the G-trim will flow enough air to make good power on a 422. I was thinking about a T-trim. That would certainly provide the air flow, but would it fit the existing bracket that I have, or even fit under the hood? Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this.

I checked dimensions on the T-Trim vs. the G-Trim, yes the T is overall bigger than the G. The T is actually a liitle bit shorter though. I thought I heard somewhere that they make thier brackets universal-to fit different blowers. I will give Vortech a call and find out.

It is a different housing size than your current blower. It may fit in the bracket with modifications though. I do not know about hood clearance. It would be a good choice for a 422" motor - should give you headroom up to 850 or so RWHP. You might consider a cogged setup also.

There is a thread over on LS1.com about this, a couple of guys are doing T-Trims. The shop that is doing them is supposedly coming out with a kit to fit the T-Trim. That is about all I know right now, I'll try to find out more.

I agree with Chrisb, it should be a good choice for a 422, but if you do decide on a cog set up make shure you invest in some sort of pressure releaf (IE:BOV or Wastegate) for insurance purposes for missed shifts! <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />
