Default Walbro 340 In-Tank for C5.. Requirements?

I'm planning to put a Walbro 340 In-Tank in my C5.
What will I need other than the pump? Any special GM wiring kits? Anything special for the C5 in specific?

How much different would the install be for a C5 vs. an F-Body?

Your best bet would be to wait for Racetronix to some out with there kit for the C5.

Does everyone believe the Racetronix claim vs. just getting a Walbro 340 & splicing the wiring yourself?

Really think we're losing that much power with splicing and the factory harness?

The 340 just spliced in will support about 500 rwhp, thats exactly what the Incon kit does, also there is no voltage booster. Normally aspirated should be able to go a little higher because the pressure is constant.

I guess Racetronix is claiming that it's not so much a Voltage booster, but that the factory fuel wiring harness is very poor. Using the Racetronix wiring harness boosts fuel pump power by 25%.

Oh, wait.. looks like they are changing the power source wiring and that ups the voltage.. Rewiring to the battery direct giving it a 18-25% boost..

Opinions?

I have been working overtime on the C5 fuel pump solution. Currently Racetronix manufactures a plug & play upgrade harness for the C5 Corvette which provides an extra 1.2-1.5 volts (= apx 18% pump volume increase @ 1.5V) under WOT based on recent dyno tests at ARE. A supercharged C5 equipped with the Racetronix PnP harness provided a significant boost in fuel volume causing the pressure to jump above the regulators base, indicating that the pump's improved performance is now overwhelming the return system. The weak link in the newer C5 setup is the return-less fuel rail system which produces pressure instability under heavy loads do to poor regulation and line restrictions. Racetronix is working on an adjustable regulator / plumbing combo that will plug into the late model return-less fuel rail system to solve this problem. The C5 Walbro factory pump's performance is almost identical to the Walbro GSS340(M)’s 255L/Hr pump as they share many of the same internal components. The Racetronix harness, voltage booster and regulator system will be the primary solution. I expect this combo to support HP levels at or above what we are producing now with other single in-tank Racetronix systems for the LS1 F-body cars.

The PnP C5 harnesses are available now through ARE in limited quantities. The C5 harness is fully plug & play (no cutting required). It has provision for the simple plug-in addition of a voltage booster that can increase pump performance but as much as 30%. The relay is positioned under the car near the fuel filter to keep clutter out of the engine compartment. Heavy gauge Teflon wire is used in critical areas. All the interconnect components are GM / Delphi. A PnP piggy-back harness can be specially ordered to support a secondary external pump such as the Walbro GSL392 for applications that have far exceed factory fuel pump capabilities.
