let me ask that again, does the computer learn not to ask for as much timing after seeing some knock or does it just use the knock retard forever.
is this ok for the converters? and o2's?
thanks for your help

Pretty sure its safe for O2's since it contains no lead. not sure about cats but i think its safe
Cablebandit here got a 55 gal drum of toulene and has been dumping it in for a while without problems.

woa, just went to lowes, they sold xylene by the gallon for $9.96, no larger containers or toulene. ouch, where should i try next? that seems kind of expensive.

Two paint stores I checked charge $8.xx for a gallon of Xylene.
Maybe they are hip to what we're doing.
Also check around for local chemical distributors.
They asked for a $300 minimum purchase which would be three 55 gallon drums, 400lbs each. The sales guy seemed to suggest that he would sell one drum but at a higher price. 40 cents/lb for three drums which comes out to $2.91 per gallon OR one drum at 45 cents/lb which comes out to $3.27 per gallon.
I believe they also deliver but don't know how far. Raleigh?
Thought someone might like this info as a reference. I wonder how much a pump for a drum would cost?
This was for Xylene btw. Toluene was about 4 cents more per lb.

next question and i think i will start a new thread also, how much octane does it take to add how much boost? if 92 octane and 7lbs is ok then how much octane for 9 or even 10lbs of boost?

1. Blend the Leaded concentrate with 100 low lead aviation fuel to get up to 112 octane race fuel that really flies!!!!
2. This concentrate when blended with a race fuel makes an Nitrous fuel to fit many applications.
3. The Unleaded concentrate when blended with a 93 octane super unleaded makes up to a 104 octane race fuel for many of today's street cars, motorcycles, watercraft, ATV's, and many other motorsport applications!
4. The Leaded concentrate makes up to a 106 octane race fuel when blended properly. Plus giving the needed lubricity of LEAD!!!
I mix 16 oz/10 gals of 93 octane which then equals a 97 octane mix. Higher concentrations will give higher octanes as needed. The mixing instructions are on each can and I don't have one here at work. It's $11/32 oz can when you buy a case of six--plus shipping.

It sounds like it would be cheaper and eaiser to do.
$8.5 (1 gallon) extra to raise 93-95
or
$11/2 (16 ounces) to raise 93-97
from what i am hearing is that 32oz of torco to 20gal of 93 gas for only $11 will give me 97 octaine, that is a little more money than the paint thinner(figuring $3/gallon bulk buy) but a whole lot easier to work with. it just seems a litte too good to be true, that stuff would have to be like, ahh i just calculated it i knew that algebra would come in handy, it would have to be 417octane!!! is this for real?
