GWP Strokers puttin' out!
The stroker Golden West Performance is testing before they finish up their next batch of stroker motors dyno'd over well over 700 RWHP with only 7 or 8 PSI of boost! Day-em! <img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" />
My target of mid-600s on 4 or 5 PSI of boost is DEFINITELY realizable! <img border="0" alt="[chug]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_chug.gif" />
They are waiting on an order of cranks to come in so they can finish putting them together, so hold on guys! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> Everything else is lined up!
Just a little while longer and the guys who have persevered on these motors are going to come out laughing... all the way down the track! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
OK... I'm a GWP cheerleader! <img border="0" alt="[pimp]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_pimp.gif" /> Well... excuse me for being excited! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Re: GWP Strokers puttin' out!
Since you said they just finished them, are you for sure that this was on a chassis dyno or could it have been on an engine dyno?
Not trying to poopoo on your pom poms <img border="0" alt="[jester]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_jest.gif" /> , just wondering. Either way, that's some BIG numbers. <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

Not a prob. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
The test motor is in a Corvette... this is RWHP! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Jason told me you could sit in the car and burn rubber about as long as you wanted to hold down the acelerator <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
I think he also said it pulled around 680 RWTQ. He didn't have an exact number. They've been working with different combinations of bores, strokes and cam profiles trying to optimize it. He's managed to eek 5, 8 10 HP here and there with various combinations of changes.
They are really meticulous about getting the most out of the setup, but maintain reliability.
It turns out my 427 "magic number" just may not be a good thing to do. They have some doubt about the viability of boring to 4.060" on the block. <img border="0" alt="[whiner]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cry.gif" />
Oh, well...
But it's good to know they are closer to wrapping things up. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Re: GWP Strokers puttin' out!
I have been looking into the stroker setups, I hate the price, but that damn C5R block looks pretty good. It's either that or the iron block with minimal boring, to maintain strength. Anyway, those GWP strokers look like fun!

Re: GWP Strokers puttin' out!
Jason called to tell me about my setup they are testing at the blower levels I requested. <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />
They had to do an initial pull with 42# injectors (50's are planned), so they only did a pull up to (I think he said) 5500 RPMs at 60% WOT and 4 PSI of boost.
530-some RWHP / 540-some RWTQ! <img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" />
(I was riding in the car when he called, so I am doing this post from memory.)
That's more RWHP at a tad more than half-throttle and at 1000 LESS RPMs than my Black Gal did when I ran 10.98 @ 126 MPH! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Day-EM! <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Re: GWP Strokers puttin' out!
I have to make a correction on the first post I put up. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" />
The motor that dynoed at 720 RWHP and 710 RWTQ is an ARE 427 that one of their customers wanted a SC for.
Agostino started him out with an outstanding N/A motor dyno'ing 490 RWHP and 492 RWTQ!
Apparently, if it weren't for belt slippage encountered on the Z06 setup, it would be making even MORE power. How would you like <img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" /> 653 RWTQ at 4000 RPM and peaking at 710 RWTQ (before the belt starts to slip)?!
Andy (the owner) says the power is down right SCARY! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
The F-Body belt/pulley setup is not as problematic, but the 8-ribbed belt and pulley GWP now sells should be a good precaution for the 422's that Clay, I and some of the other guys are getting...
Get some more horses out of those babies, Kenny, and pass the goodies! <img border="0" alt="[chug]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_chug.gif" />
