Re: Turbo with Headers You could make short tube headers work, but long tubes might be a problem because you have to much distance between the head and the turbo, and to much extra exhaust piping.

Re: Turbo with Headers You need to get a set of long tube stepped headers with a 4" collector to handle all of that air that you will be adding from the turbo.

on a turbotech kit if you are referring to it (t-76) you can run a passenger shortie header that would bolt to the factory y-pipe such as jba. but it really wont do much for the money.
if you custom make a turbo kit, careful of what type of header you use in the fab, because there is much more exhaust pressure/heat in the pipes on turbo vs. naturally aspriated, and regular headers wont withstand the pressure/heat for long.

Re: Turbo with Headers i make my own turbo headers, and i also make them for others, on my TT SBC i used flanges from CA Chassis works, and i used industerial 2 in sch 80 pipe, it is about 1/4 inch thick , makes for about a 25 lb header,about par with a cast iron manifold, but it can support a big turbo without bracing and it can take the heat, and it will not conduct heat like a thin tube header, so no wrap is required, stainless is always better but these things can be made for about 500 VS 1000+ for a custom header and they are good for life, oh and the thick tube helps keep flange warp down to a minimum.
