so for a street driven car this intake would probably be useless? just curious. as I am going to be dealing with boost as well and would wonder if that sheetmetal intake would be better than the fast 90 in my application.

how much did the intake cost I always wanted a sheetmetal , I know it has to make more power than my stock ls1 intake

They are like $1800 with fuel rails. This one for example just fits under the factory cowl.

Do you still intend to try this on your S/C setup, or you going to wait for a turbo setup to try it on?

The person you lent it to, are they S/C, turbo, N/A, or NOS? Are they doing a back to back test? What is their current intake setup?

They are turbo.

At my power level losing some lowend doesn't make it less streetable, the car can't hook on the street as it is.

I think general concensus about aftermarket intakes, replicating the LS6 style, is they offer little-no improvement over the stock LS6 intake.

Carb and sheet metal do seem to offer benefits up top....

Could be very interested in having a go at a carb intake next year myself. Seem very good value.

In all honesty, how much would a blown engine lose at low-mid range rpm's with a carb intake ??
