Propane injection kit has arrived...

Re: Propane injection kit has arrived...
For crash protection of the bottle rely on the relief valve thats what its design for, not a cage. The cage would not prevent the tank from rupturing. On the EGT you can get a hand held unit for $95 from Omega that will read four probes on one unit. It has a hold, maximum, minimum function that will work. You could then do each manifold separately and get both manifolds read in two dyno runs or 1/4 mile runs. Not the best but will work perfectly well.
If you want to read all eight then you ca get a module that you can actually data log all to a laptop for a few hundred.

Re: Propane injection kit has arrived...
My engine is destined for LPG fed through the injectors. I am waiting for a few parts so I can get it under way. I don't think I will be going dual fuel. Most kits convert the LPG to gas before it reaches the engine which is really old technology. I want the liquid to vaporise in the intake port for the charge cooling benefits. There are an increasing number of stations here in the UK that stock LPG which is half the price of petrol. Our petrol is really expensive!! I plan to retain my Motec pcm which is MAP sensing, run stock rpm and a low comp ratio.

I'm just waiting to see the outcome of this kit before I decide which to buy, propane or water/alky.
