Default Lets make a streetable 346ci forced induction setup.

I have always wondered the limits of a forged 346ci with the proper tuning with a S/C or Turbo.. Harlan is testing these limits right now. What can you run w/out needing alchy or race gas and still make 600rwhp plus.. Or is this possible?

Just wait to see what Matt does, he'll get to the limits and then exceed them. like he always does, safely <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />

yea but im sure he will run race gas..

im 'planning' on 600 rear wheel on pump gas and 10+psi.. and a 10 second pass around 130 mph.. thems my goals..i think its possible long as i hit the tune right..

the motor is 8.8(ish) compression
stock displacement... but not much else <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

the combo SHOULD be very streetable, just a small cam, and small heads, nice spec gen 2 clutch.. still got all my seats and the a/c too

Thats what I am talking about.. I would be happy with low to mid 11's at around 130mph...

To get 600 on pump gas i think your compression might need to be a bit lower. 8.8 is high for that. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

I think mightymouse will definately meet his goal with a nice motor and about 10-12psi.

The roots is done, you just need a high rise hood.
No intercoolers.

It's not a root blower, it's a screw type blower. They are more efficient than the standard root. Whipple made a 572 Hemi Motor with 2 intercooled screw supercharger that twisted out 1200HP on 89 octane gas.

My setup!

8.5:1 compression, ported heads, "mild" cam.

94 octane gas, daily driven, 585rwhp on ARE's dyno, 572 after a retune on a Mustang dyno, which is about 640ish on a Dynojet.

Ran out of actuator, new actuators are going in, looking for 600rwhp on pump gas on a Mustang dyno, then I'll take it to a Dynojet and probably hit around 670ish.

We didn't get to 600 on the Mustang yet but the shop doing the tuning said from the way things were going it looked like it was feasible.

last i remember he had 14psi <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

i'll run pump gas most of the time, hoping for about what i had before. But when i turn it up, in goes the race gas <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

So Harlan you plan to run 12psi on pump gas this time around.. You do know you will be making 650rwhp plus? Your old setup was on stock stuff. Now you have H/C.. If you make that work then you will have proven to a lot a people that a 346ci can produce nice streetable power and still be reliable.. I agree that race gas would be needed for added boost.. If all goes well my new setup will run around 12 psi on pump and race gas if I go above..

i will be happy with a 10 like i said, my car is not setup for drag, but for street duty.. i dont want skinny front tires or a sloshy suspension, and i havent done any weight reduction.. i imagine all i would ever do would be a k member/a-arms and a fiberglass hood to only balance the weight added by the trubo kit.. full interior/accessories will stay in place.

after the spec unsprung ceramic clutch, theres a factory 6 speed, a dennys steel driveshaft, 1350 yoke and a moser 12 bolt.
