Would this be a good option for a 600hp street car? What would its limits be?

Well it says : "support 1492 CFM's 663HP-1002HP at max efficiency 1.5psi pressure drop"

Now that is a nicely designed intercooler. Most IC's I see posted on this site are horrible by design. Horizontal flow with opposed tanks facing each other stinks for efficiency. With the opposite sided tanks and vertical core, you are forcing the air to use the entire core. IF you can ****** it up for a good price then I suggest you do so.

Alright Jose, you are dead wrong there. Side-to-side (horizontal) cores offer better efficiency because the cooling area is much longer. The fall back is that they produce more pressure drop. Top-to-bottom cores flow more, but do not cool the air as well. I am running a top-to-bottom spearco on my car right now, but will be switching to a side-to-side garrett this winter.

With that noted, not all intercoolers have good end tank designs. The ones that are box end tanks with the coming in at a direct 90* are a poor design. One of the best examples of a nice side-to-side FMIC is the Apexi skyline core.

Note I said horizontal core with opposed (inlet/outlet)facing each other. Now if you take a horizontal flow and swap tanks on opposite sides of the core it will become very efficient by design. Feel free to contact ARE, they do intercooler testing with different endtank configurations.

Well I already bought it and am going to MAKE it fit. To quote Corky Bells book on Maximum Boost "The proper way to make a bigger intercooler is to increase the core area by adding a greater number of internal passageways, not just making the same number of passageways longer" "Unless overwheling reasons dictate otherwise, the core should be contructed to provide the greatest internal flow area"
