Default Headers???????

I know that long tube headers make more torque as well as move the torque slight lower on powerband. However, I recently read that long tube headers make little difference on forced induction motors. Has anyone else read this or have any experences with this? Are shorties just as good as long tubes on forced motors?

Go with long tubes on a blower motor, if you can afford them.

On a blower motor, long-tube headers don't buy you anything but a lighter pocketbook.

The supercharged motor needs room to breathe. Superchargers do not like backpressure.

However, when it comes to header tuning, for blown motors, typical header tuning theory goes out the window. The ideal is LARGE diameter tubing, short primaries and no collector. (OK... a little impractical for the street. ) But, my point is, where long-tube headers mean a lot on an NA machine, they buy you nothing in a blown application.

You could buy some inexepensive MAC headers and save the remaining half $grand for some suspension mods or something.

I agree with what mike is saying but I got the dynotech step headers because of their size.

scott ws6, DEFINITELY, if the size is bigger, that is going to help the blown motor breathe!
