Default Dyno numbers so far - 672.9hp/618.6 torque

I haven't posted anything about the car in awhile. This is mainly due to the fact that I haven't been to enthused about the numbers but things are starting to pick up. Today's pull produced 672.9hp at about 5800 and 618.6 ft-lb torque at 5200. One restriction that I see is the exhaust flowing through a 2.5" Y-pipe. That will be replaced with a 3" this week and then we can see about getting into the 700+ range.

A quick rundown on the car -

ARE 409 stroker motor topped with a set of Stage II LS6 heads and an LS6 intake. Internal components include - Ross pistons (8.9:1 compression), Lunati crank, rods and cam (.556/.578 112)

ATI F1 supercharger making about 18# of boost

1 3/4" TTS long tube headers with a 2 1/2" Y-pipe and a Corsa exhaust

4L60E with a Vigilante 3500 converter

Future upgrades include a larger cam and possibly tapping into the bottle that is mounted in the back.

Tom

GREAT work, Tom!

Let me ask a question... why 112 LSA? Wouldn't a wider LSA help the boosted motor a bit? Or does it not matter for the configuration you put together?

I'm not being smarta$$... with my limited knowledge, I just gathered that from all the discussion going around.

Thanks, man. And again, I LIKE those numbers! That's about my target.

Call me stupid if I'm wrong, but I don't think a stick would change the rwhp rating of his car?

A manual transmission is more efficient and will let more power make it to the rear wheels.

One person recently dynoed his car with a 4L60E automatic(locked converter) then switched it out for a 6speed and dynoed ~25+ more rwhp.

Tom, get that little y-pipe off there. That should really wake things up. Actually, I'm surprised it hasn't blown itself off. Do you think a set of bigger 1 7/8" headers would help? Also do you think a new intake manifold might help?

Tom, when that 4L60E blows up why don't you put in a TH350 with a gear vendors OD unit. Then you could sell a conversion kit.

Good work. Congratulations on that beast.

Got ya, was wrong about the actually dyno higher on the manual, but you think it'd make that much of a difference? Almost 130 horse different?

I think each transmission eats a certain fixed amount of power not a percentage like is always talked about. IMO

I originally didn't plan on going with a supercharger this big when the motor was built last year. ARE recommended this cam when everything went together.

The car would probably dyno in the 705hp range if it was a 6 speed. The 4L60E isn't the most efficient tranny out there

A full 3" Y w/RT cats, 1 7/8" Grots and a wide open borla will get you 50 hp, I'm guessing.

Good job, Tom. I'm still showing your license plate frame on my car. It may not impress now at 12.20/114, but when the stage II LS1M T63 goes on, it should raise some eyebrows...

Great numbers!!
I think a 1 7/8 header and 3 inch Ypipe would make a world of difference!
Congrats again,
Chris

I was also thinking about some 1 7/8" headers. They would really help the big horsepower cars.

for that kind of power that you are pushing i would almost take a look at 1 7/8-2" step header. You can cram all the air in you are gonna need it is just getting that stuff out of there. On a motor making that kind of power I would have to think there is a huge bottle neck in your y as people have said.

Tom: Get some better headers and a dual 3" exhaust setup with an X-pipe, I bet that would show a great gain!
