Default Turbo 60fters

The best I can get is 1.8. Just wondering if anyone else is 60fting better.

I went out last night and had trouble getting a decent 60' myself.

It wasn't spinning, it was hooking then bogging!

I'm launching off a 2-step with a 3k pill. I'm not "matting" the pedal because I don't want to leave at full boost but I was able to make it 60' (in order) 1.62, 1.54, 1.49 buy increasing the boost at launch. I am using a tranny brake FWIW, but Harlen's 2-step should help immensely if you don't already have one.

Why won't your car 60'? spinning? bogging?

wasnt spinning. Guys there said it would haul *** after the 60. It did feel like a bogg come to think of it. I might just get a 2 step after I figure out this fuel problem.

Best i ever did was a 1.58, but that was on stock suspension and 10 bolt.

When the 12 bolt went in w/ the SFC's and LCA's i could never get below a 1.8

When i upgraded my torque arm, that helped alot. Finally getting the pinion angle where it needed to be netted some decent low 1.7's

Best to date is 1.69

I launch with 0 boost however. Thus the reason behind the 2-step. I needed that 300 RWTQ torque difference between 0 boost and 10 psi.

Based on my data logs it was taking .7 to .8 seconds from launch at 5800 (clutch dump) to build full boost. That's a good part of the 60'

I'll know soon enough if the 2 step is gonna do it's job.

I'm sure that you'll find the fine line between bogging and spinning, you'll be able to adjust the 2-step to leave at whatever the track can handle. Of course, a $500 boost controller wouldn't hurt either..

My local track was hooking great Saturday night and I ran (in order) 6.07, 5.93, 5.92**, all at around 110 mph. I just kept increasing the boost at launch and track held it. I'm running 28x13.50 QTP's FWIW.

** My local track is somewhere around 600' long, you should add .30-.35 seconds to my E.T to get semi-accurate 1/8 mile times.

I had a few 1.70s launching at 5500rpms. Hopefully the 2 step will help that.

My best 60ft this weekend was a 1.9x ... the car was having some problems on the big end, but I managed a 11.96 @ 120 on 4psi.

I wanted to turn it up, but the boost controller wasn't working

The two step imo is a great thing. IF you can get the car to hook use it. I used it with my manual and loved it. I was going to rig it with the clutch safety switch on the pedal but found that it might screw up a little. I am now setting it up with the transbrake. Its nice to leave the line in a manual with 17psi granted it does nasty things to everything behind the motor
My car seemed to like the rpm set higher than i really liked to leave on though (liked it right about 5500) <--you with two step

ok give me all the details. How do you set it on a auto and do I just mash it when the yellows start to come down? You will be probably gettin a e-maill soon for me to by one

For an auto you can do it a few ways.
1.Set it off the brake pedal When brake pedal is fully engaged have the trigger flip.

2 set a switch on your steering wheel with the 2 step and maybe a line lock then stage the car that way if the fronts will hold that is.

3 have a switch somewhere that you hold and when you release the brake release the button.

For me... I would get ready when both cars are in the beams I would mat (full throttle) the car. Boost would go almost immdiatly up to full boost. You can play with the throttle then to get it down.

On a auto though I would think you should be able to build boost when you floor with the brakes engaged anyhow...
Do you have a converter?

Or can you clarify?

I think he attempted to leave the line at 17psi w/a T56.. kaboom

j/k Steven, but I seem to recall some major havoc to the drivetrain after your T-76 upgrade.

At a couple of tracks where I could actually get it to hook; I have gotten several 1.67 60's and a few low 1.7's.

26/1150/16 et streets at 14 psi cold, hal shocks on 1 frt and 5 rear. do a big bunrout, Dump the clutch at 5500 and hold on.

Now that I am having clutch issue's I haven't been back to the track. Last couple of launches the clutch would only come halfway off the floor after a good launch. Not sure whats causing it yet.

Havoc You could say that lol

Yanked tired on the street with the two step and a t-72q trim.

Loaded up car and went to the track unloaded and had a horrible day to start battery died (someone forgot to turn interior light off doh)

But then go to the line staged built boost built even more boost launched moved a wopping 12 inches granted the front end was on its way up but then the Torque arm, drive shaft, and rearend exploded oops did I do that.. load car on trailer and head to bar lol.

I hear ya brady it is all good i just am building this thing to take king kongs motor

I thought the 2-step was for manuals, because you need to operate the brake, clutch and gas all at once to build boost off the line, and we ain't got three feet.

I'd like to see if someone has tried this with a turbotech kit. I may be the guinea pig
I want to see how it performs with an aluminum flywheel. If the flywheel doesnt launch ok, I will change back to a stock flywheel. My question is where do you start to see boost....would be nice if you could lauch at 4000 rpms with 4-5 psi
