questions about LQ9

Default questions about LQ9

i have the option to buy an LQ9 for about $700. i will buy it and let it sit and then build it up to put a turbo on it eventually. first i would build it NA and get what power i can out of it there (probly shooting for 450-500 to the wheels NA). Then i will go in and turbo charge it and look to get around 800 to the wheels...

what i am asking ya'll is what a good setup would be and which roads to travel, what to buy, your recomendations, blah blah...

i am researching what i can for now (just started today) and figuring out what i want to do.

it woudl pretty much be impossible. Unless you do alot of strokin and boring. A 370 makin 500 na would be absoutly horrible for FI. You woud beed REAL high compression a BIG *** cam adn all the bolt ones that aint gonna make all that much of a difference when it comes time to FI. If you go with a turbo the headers/ORY wiull be usless a intake would be good but a LS6 or a fast intake aint gonan help all that much and you are better off getting a caeb intake as it splits up the air alot better for the mixture. Heads are another thing that you woudl have wasted 2k on. Stockers are great fromt the 6.0 trucks.

so just better off building it for a turbo right off the bat? i mean is it even worth getting the 6 liter?

the only things i would have to buy for it are the intake components, everything else is there...

Well 370 ci will make more power tehn a 346. The heads are something that are useful also as they are alot better then the stock heads on a LS1.
If it were me i would but the 6.0 take the heads and crank off but them in teh LS1 and put forged rods and pistons in it and call it a day. Teh crank in them is real stong just liek the stockers in the LS1 so unless you plan on goin over 800 on a daily basis it will be great. GL
