Blower.....Should I??? Eventually, i want to install a blower for my 2k1 LS1.
Which supercharger should i go with, and how much am i looking at for the blower, misc. parts, and install??
I basically have a stock LS1 w/ exhaust. would it be safe to install a blower on a stock motor?

Re: Blower.....Should I??? if your going witha blower for an LS1 it has to be either ATI or Vortech...period. with that aside, you ask if its "safe" to run FI on a stock motor. yes and no. if you have the kit installed correctly, have a proper tune, and dont get greedy with the boost, then you should be ok for a while. anytime you run FI, miscellaneous engine parts are going tom wear faster due to the higher hp and tq levels associated with FI. as far as cost...the S/C kit, which includes all you need to hook it up, will be right around 6k.
however...to make it "safer", you could back down to 8:1 pistons and get hardened pushrods. those would in essence be insurance policies as high compression is not good for a blown motor.
