The cutom fan setup is going to be fun to figure out without the help of the original owner. Do you remember his name? The alias he used on message boards? The stock setup from Powerdyne has two pushers and a puller which are mounted directly on the radiator with no brackets. Do you have a digital camera? Maybe some pictures of the pieces will help people figure it out with you.

I assume they use the standard pass through type plastic fasteners. I just thought I'd ask because there are brackets with it, and maybe someone found a better way to do it. I have been looking for the guy I bought it from, but I am not having any luck yet.

Thanks for the info.

Well you can check out my install page I kept some pictures from other installs down by others. There are a few other people who made some of their own install setups for the fans.

Default Powerdyne fan install help needed please!

Well, after screwing around for six months I've finally gotten around to installing the used powerdyne kit I picked up last winter. The kit is a 6lb kit and the guy I bought it from had upgraded to the SPAL pusher fans. I just can't figure out how to install the fans, and the manual only has one picture that's all dark.

The two pushers each have two small brackets on them. The single puller has no brackets or anything, but there are two brackets with the kit that I haven't identified yet - a steel rod with holes on both ends and a 90 degree angle bracket with two holes on each side..

Any help would be greatly appreciated, since this is all that is keeping me from boosting away! Thanks in advance.

Interestingly enough, the guy I bought my system from was named Greg P. I wonder if it is the same guy?

Anyone else have any ideas? I still have a couple of unknown brackets, too...

Lest anyone think that was me, I sold mine to Jason Rios who AFAIK has his kit installed

That rod with the holes on either end is supposed to hold the MAF in place. Don't remember what the angle bracket is for, if it was even a part of the original kit.

If the puller is the Pdyne supplied one, I had to use tie wraps to hold mine on as it did not come with brackets.

Describe the other brackets, I might be able to tell you what they are.

Ya the puller and elbow sit close but your foam probably brought them a lot closer. Just keep an eye on it.

Check out some of the pics on my site and the others pics from other people I have that show how a lot of people are running placing the cones in the driver side wheel well.

Well, the pushers went on pretty easy. The supplied brackets lined up real well with the front face of the the lower rad support, so I just shot them in with sheet metal screw. I attached each one once on the top with a B&M radiator mounting retainer I picked up at Ramchargers. The puller was a bit tougher, but I put three retainers through the radiator and it seems pretty tight (I put some foam around it to seal it and help cushion it too.

When I put the elbow on the SC output, it rests right on the edge of the puller fan. Is this normal? I don't see any harm, but I usually would like to see a few mm of clearance there. I guess the foam I put on could be taking some of the space, but it is not that thick.

Thanks for the help on the bracket. The kit I bought came with a Cone filter, so I am going to route it to where the airpump rests (for now) in front of the DS tire. I figure I probably will have to fab up something to get it over there - hopefully without using any of that dryer duct that came with the original kit.

Thanks for the info.
