Vortech boost after headers ???? I have the Vortech V-9 kit. I just ordered my Hooker Longtubes with offroad y-pipe on the great GP through Jet Hot <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> .
How much boost should I expect to lose over the stock exhaust and can I get a new pulley to make up for the lost boost? By the way how can I tell which pulley I have on my kit and find out which one I may need?
Anyone else with the Vortech changed from stock exhaust to Hooker Longtubes? How much HP can I expect to gain?

Re: Vortech boost after headers ???? The Long Tubes Will Infact Slightly Reduce The Boost Pressure Do To The Reduced Back Pressure. Although That Will Allow The Air To Escape The Cylinder Faster So Your Cylinder Temperature Will Be Much Cooler. The Cooler The Air Temperature The Less Chance Of Detonation. Also The Larger Volume Of Fresh Air That The Cylinder Has The More Power Per Pound Of Boost You Will Make. The Base Foundation For Horse Power Is Oxygen & The Cooler The Air The More Oxygen Content You Will Have. Look At Nitrous N20,If You Look At The Periodcal Table From Chemistry, You Will Notice That Nitrous Is Two Particals Of Nitrogen & One Partical Of Oxygen. The Nitrogens Are There To Help Stabalize The Burn Rate Of The Oxygen. You Can Not Control The Burn Rate Of Pure Oxygen.
