Help a turbo novice: water dripping from a turbo?
Just got back from a leisurely drive...no hot rodding at all. When I got out I heard sizzling sounds. Looked under the car and water is dripping from my passenger side turbo, between the turbine and compressor. There's a good amount of it on the floor. What's going on?? Any help would be appreciated, TIA. The car is a '98 LS1, Incon stage 1 twin turbo (Garretts).
That's what i am thinking...but the water has no smell and is almost perfectly clear...i would think it was condensation but there is too much...probably a quart dripped out onto my garage floor, pretty quickly too. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Is your coolent lvl low? I had a small coolent leak but you would smell that or see it by red dots all over your exhaust in that area. I know even when I dont run my a/c it still gets wet in current weather.
Thanks for the tips guys. Apparently I had a blockage in the hose that carries condensation away from the A/C, and it let go all at once right above my turbo. The coolant level is full, and there's at least a 50/50 mix of coolant and water in the radiator, but no coolant on the ground. Looked over everything and found no red spots or evidence of leaking.
What a relief! Thanks again for the input.
