Default Idle problems

I just got my PCM back from GWP. I installed it and ran into a couple of problems.

1) I have a small fuel leak where the injector meets the fuel rail. This is a billet fuel rail wich I ordered from ls1speed. Iam not sure if the fuel rail was not machined right or if maybe their is a special procedure to sit the injectors on the fuel rail?

2) I was able to get the car started but she will not idle. The car has been sitting for about 6 months so she was hard to get started but I sat their and gave her some gas until she started. I kept her started until she got upto operating temperature but the second I get my foot of the gas she shuts off? I dont know if its just that the engine is still a little rusty or if the computerr tuning needs some more recalibration. My local mechanic advised me to drill two holes in the throttle body plate to give her more air and keep her turning. But I have never herd any of you guys with superchargers do this so Iam kind of weary about drilling the throttle body?

If anyone can help me I would really apreciate it. I also have an auto tap run that I recorded while she starts and as I iddle her whith my foot on the gas and as she shuts off when I release the gas. If anyone wants to take a look at this reading I can e-mail it to them.

Please help, I cant wait to get her going again!!!

You may have a vacuum leak or some similar issue. But try this before you go drilling any holes:

as far as the fuel leak you might have cut the o-ring. I've had that happen before. Did you put a cam in?

Well I Solved the fuel leak. It seems that the injector was just not seated right in the fuel rail.

I drilled a hole in the throttle plate on saturday and started the car she started up and idled a couple of second then turned off. So I drilled a second smaller hole and tried starting the car and she wont even start now. I made sure everthing all wiring harnesses where connected and I couldnt find a problem.

I pulled out a sparkplug and it was all fouled up. These where brand new plugs, the engine hasnt run for more than a total of 6 minutes and these plugs where black and full of carbon. I removed all plugs from the passenger side and cleaned them then tried starting the car and she showed a little bit of life right then she turned off on me again.

It seems to me that the car is running way too rich. I orderd LS1 Edit last week so I will probably get it in about two weeks or so. But until then is their anything else I can do to make her run leaner. I have the fuel pressure set to 60lbs, I was thinking if I turn it down 50lbs it will lean her out enough so to not foul up the plugs anymore. Maybe I can even drive her around the block. I just wont get on the throttle till I retune the PCM and raise the Fuel Pressure back to the recomended 60lbs.

What do you guys think, lower the FP or just wait for ls1 Edit?

Hmm thats wierd. Are your o2s good? Probably not that though. Maybe they put one to many 0 in the fuel map .

I think your right cool28. I just cleaned out all the plugs and turned down the fuel pressure to 40lbs and the car started for about 10 seconds then she slowly started dying out on me.

It seems that the PCM tuning is all out of wack. I have LS1Edit ordered as of last week so I hope to get it in the next couple of weeks.

I will get back to you guys and let you know of the outcome.

What year is it?Try unhooking the mass air flow sensor and see if it stays running.I had a similar problem and it was a leak.If it runs without the MAF you have a leak somewhere.Just a guess.

OK I finally got to the bottom of my original problem, but now to overcome the new obstacle.

My PCM program was all scrued up. The car was running so rich that it fouled up all my plugs. Well I recieved LS1 Edit and GWP emailed me a new tune for my PCM. I got the car too start but then ran into some trouble codes due to the fact that I had two big holes in my throttle body. Those holes in the TB sent the PCM running crazy, it even cut power to the engine. The IDC kept displaying REDUCED ENGINE POWER.

I had a spare throttle body in my garage so I drilled a 1/8" hole in it and installed it in the car. The car starts fine cold and hot without me having to give her gas. She idles at about 850RPM hot and 950-1000RPM cold.

The problem happend after I rev her up. As the RPMs come down they go below 200RPMs and sometimes the engine recovers and comes back up but most of the time she stalls out.

What can I do to fix this new problem?

I was wondering if the 1/8" hole is too small now. Iam afraid of drilling a bigger hole because I dont want to ruin another throttle body.

Just to know what size holes have you guys drilled into you throttle bodys?

Or is this a tuning problem. I have an ATAP log available, if you want to view the ATAP log let me know and I will e-mail it to you.
