Default Is it possible to have a supercharger and NOT reduce engine life? How?

just like the post states. Im trying to find out how to prevent the reduction of engine life of car that has a supercharger on.

Dont think thats possible, but lets hear what the public has to say. Im mostly interested in hearing responses from those of you who have "been there, done that".

Also please dont give me 'sorry *** feedback' like "use 2 psi" or something.. lol..

Thanks in advance!

I am assuming you are talking about a stock motor. I have at least 6 bottle of nitrous through motor with 3500rpm launch with spray on my stock motor and no noises or leaks. I'd say keep a good eye on tuning and your engine knock at zero and use a reasonable boost. If you do a H/C and S/C, I would recommend rebuilding the motor with forged components. I am going to rebuild mine just for peace of mind.

Who can make a motor last if they are putting the pedal to the metal to the tune of 450 to 500 RWHP!

If you keep the boost to conservative levels (say, 5 to 7 PSI), and only do street stuff and OCCASIONAL strip stuff, it may last a few years. But, if you go to the track every other week and race every honcho that pulls up beside you, what do you expect?

thanks for all the responses.

Gold Phoenix, you mentioned "rebuilding the motor with forged components" what exactly in the motor needs to be rebuilt? heads and pistons only? Im new to forced induction. Hope you wont mind helping me out a bit here and there.
