Default TWO FUEL TANKS???

Has anyone installed a second fuel cell? Where is the best place for it? I would like a cell around 8-10 gallons for 100+ octane fuel. This will work with my Aeromotive pump that only turns on under boost. Otherwise the stock tank with stock pump and in-line booster pump that came with ATI's kit will have 93 octane ,used when not in a boost condition. Then have the two lines come together with a Y-fitting and a one way check valve so the fuel does'nt flow back into the aux. tank when not making boost. When I go into boost the Aeromotive pump turns on and mixes 100 octane with the 93octane. Let me know if you tried this and how you set yours up? Thanks

I am running one 5 gallon in the trunk for water and one for fuel
I installed a fire wall to block the back from the rest of the car. I have seen a few that I like in the back.

IF I question right i don't understand it's reasoning. Are you wanting to run around with your stock tank then have this as a supplemental system to trigger when you are in boost? Are you going to have it primmed at all times? I honestly think something like a alcohol injection system would be tons better for your wants.

Yes, I want to run around with stock tank and have the second fuel cell used when I go into boost. My set-up right now is with the Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump in series with the stock in-tank pump. And the Aeromotive pump is controlled by a hobbs switch. The pump is normally off until the hobbs switch sees about 2psi then it will turn on the Aeromotive. This set-up just doesn't work very well, fuel pressure sometimes jumps all over the place (causing detonation) and sometimes it's stable. How can I set it up so the pump stays primmed? What is an alcohol injection system ?

I used the racetronix pnp system for ease of installation.

http://www.racetronix.com/rx-f1ls1-gss340m-fpk-a.html

I don't know if they have it for other years yet. I know they were working on it.

For the regulator I use this. Works very well.

http://www.chargedair.com

look under buick, fuel delievery, universal fuel regulator

It's a great way to go. With this setup being its a vacumm/boost referenced regulator your fp at the rails remains a constant value.

really nice for tuning.

I have this setup and 42# injectors and it's more than enough fuel. Granted I only run a 6# powerdyne but I would have no problem slapping a big boy blower on there with my current fuel system. It should handle your ATI with ease.

pushing fuel through an inline pump that isnt running will greatly reduce your pressure and flow capability, thats half your problem there..(unless the pump is designed differently that the in'lines im used to)

i agree with the above, i think this setup will get complicated to run correctly and i think the results will be negligable unless this is a race only application, and if it is race only then just mix it into the tank.

replace the intank with a bigger one.

add a boost referenced fp regulator

that will handle your needs.

water/alky or a supplimental 100 octane fuel system as you described should not be needed for what your doing.

If I remember I will snap some pics of my setup and post them this weekend.

I set my pump to come on at zero boost. Works good.

Are you suggesting that a Walbro in-tank pump is the only pump I need? Will that take th place of the three pumps in series I currently have? Including the Aeromotive that only comes on under boost? And will the boost referenced fp regulator take the place of the stock in-tank regulator? Where does the boost referenced fp regulator get installed? Too many questions, I know. Just very concerned about losing fuel pressure at the track and melting my motor. Thanks again!
