Stock block and forced induction
As I am pulling the parts together and researching for my turbo buildup, I'm debating if I will be fine with the aluminum shortblock, and crank and bearings. I'm thinking of getting Lunati Rods and Ross pistons at around 8.9:1, and throwing the turbo on that.
Probably run around 10psi.
Think this will support 600rwhp reliably?
My reasoning is... 600rwhp will be mid 10 second passes, if not lower. It'll be streetable. It'll be reliable. I can run cats, and a stock or very mild cam (TR224?), and most likely pass smog.
It'll also be easier on the T56 (i'll have it beefed up), and hopefully I won't have to go to an automatic (I like to control my own shifts .
Since this is mainly going to be my street car, and not a drag racer, I think this setup will be good for me.
Any thoughts/comments/suggestions?
Thanks!
