LSM single turbo kit ????
1) What limits the t63 to 6-7 psi? I thought you could way more out of these smaller turbos than that, is it the wastegate or what? I understand they have it like that for stock engines, but will i need to up the output after building engine?
2) How bad is this kit to install? I have access to a lift, and the likes? After install could i drive it to get it tuned without hurting it?
3) Is there any way to run a dual exhaust or would i need a TT setup?
4) Would it be beneficial to get the T76 head unit with plans to build engine in a ear or so? Or would I be losing power running the T76 on a stock engine (until rebuild)?
TIA, Charlie.

It can boost beyond 15-18 PSI. The wastegate is just set to bleed off turbine-driving exhaust at 6-7 PSI. It will handle the needs of a 750fwhp engine. Any more than that and you should consider the T-76.

I'm going to trailer mine, just because, but at PT the PCM should adjust for the 37 lb injectors. Just don't even come close to hammering it!

The T-76 is a larger animal with different dimensions all around. Likely, at this point you'll be sacrificing some PT drivability because the turbo won't begin to build boost until some RPM later, and ultimate HP is still limited to the ability of the engine to tolerate it. The good news is that a mega large turbo can behave similarly to a smaller unit if as much timing as possible is built into the lower RPMs. I did this with my Talon, which had a 2.0L and a giant (for a 2.0L) T-50 turbo. The timing brought spool down in the RPMs and it was snappy when it spooled, but it was still a soggy-bottom boy.
Hope this helps.

if you get the standart kit, you would mail your computer to ls1motorsports, they program it and they send it back to you just in time (few day turnaround) to get in the car to start it up once the install is complete.

Mighty:
Are YOU going with the EW tuning??

Install I feel comfortable enough to do, 16hrs, not long I guess. Seems pretty much straightforward adding on parts except the fule pump, and manifold change and i know a few peeps that'll help out. Does the 3" exhaust run down the stock location pretty much? Any problems with ground clearance?
BTW-where is Walled Lake, whats it near? I grew up in St Johns, and relocated to Traverse City, MI. Thanks much. Charlie.

I was hooked on the LS1 Motorsports kit, but for $8000, it wasn't worth it to me...I think I am going to go with the D-1sc for sure..

Does he [EW](or whoever does the LS1M tuning) tune with LS1Edit? and if so, will i get a copy of the tuning on disk so my local dyno guy can adjust once on the car, or what? Thanks. Charlie.

Nope, he locks the program out too so no one can see the the parameters he changes. You're better off buying LS1edit yourself, doing some research concerning good base tunes for FI, and starting from there...will cost you about the same also. It's actually a good idea to have your own copy of LS1edit with a FI car just because keeping tabs on your tune is very important for proper operation.
i would go with that tuning, i have had fastchip tuning in the past.. but i have ls1 edit now, wich i feel is superior.
the tune that they would put on your computer would be the same powertuning they developed on the test car that was dyno tuned at ed wrights.
cat3: the boost is limited via wastegate to 7psi so you dont blow your stock motor/fuel system/tuning though you CAN simply adjust it up whenever you like, its preset at 7 to work with stock engine etc and be relatively safe.
the downpipe goes to a stock positioned cat back.
the kit is not reccomended for lowered vehicles.. but neither are headers.. my car is lowered.
if you get fastchip tuning, only fastchip can adjust that tuning, you can overwrite it with you own tune from ls1 edit at any time though.
i would personally drop the ed wright tuning and go with ls1 edit if you are planning on going past 7psi.
fastchip ain't no money *****, its his business and his tunes, why would it be the right thing to do for him to give away his tune for free? you wouldnt do that if it was your business, neither would i.
Bigbos, i promise you will spend 8grand for the sc stuff when it is all said and done counting headers and install.
you think for the guys that are going stage 1 (such as myself) should just stay with the EW tuning and it will be sufficient? also, i was under the impression (although i certainly could be mistaken) that the turbo test cars were in front of EW when he tuned them. if this is wrong and he was not in person to tune them, did LS1M do any sort of "optimizing" with their own LS1edit afterwards? or is it just EW tuning and thats it?
i am pretty sure that the test car was dyno tuned on a dyno in person at ew's shop.
Got a lot of info from them and just comparing to those using similar systems. Heard a lot about you, where you at Bragg? What MOS?
I'd suggest letting Bode tune it with LS1 Edit on the dyno down at BSM. Before I left, we got 500rwhp on a stock bottom ended Vortech car (HP if you know him).
Charlie.
