I just got the new High performance Pontiac Issue in the mail. They had a write up in a Detroit Speedworks install of a Turbo Technology Single Turbo kit. They installed the kit with a 60-1 turbonetics turbo. I just went to their site (www.turbotechnologyinc.com) the entire kit is only $4500? That seems like an awesome deal to em, Anyone on the site happen to use this setup? For $4999 you can upgrade to the t-76 turbo. In the article the basically stock trans Am made 354 RWHP. after they bolted on an LS6 manifold, a catback, upgraded injectors, inline fuel pump and tuned the car with LS1 edit. The car was running at 5.5lbs of boost when it made the dyno run of 354 RWHP. Anyone have any feedback on this kit? Thanks for any help

I'm pretty sure the RWHP #'s above are type-o's, could you double check what you read. 354 RWHP with 5.5 PSI does not seem accurate.
Thanks.

354RWHP Thats weak for a turbo car. Somthing is not right? With the mods you listed, the turbo would only be adding about 20-30RWHP.

The dyno numbers on this car are very deceiving. Keep in mind we have a Mustang Dyno, NOT a Dynojetand the car is a an automatic with a looser (2800rpm stall) convertor. The dyno is only a tuning tool, not the ultimate performance measurement. That's why we go to the track. It has been our experience that other cars with similar power numbers on this dyno with autos and loose convertors at roughly the same weight have gone to the track and run bottom 11's despite "low" dyno sheets. This car really is a sleeper with the stock looking appearance, but it basically has two modes on the street, coasting and painting stripes.
In part 3 of the article, we added an ATR 3" catback and raised the boost to 8psi on pump gas. Let's just say that full throttle traction isn't any better on the street.
Unfortunately, the owner of the car probably won't be taking it to the track until after it gets a 12 bolt, so we'll have to wait a little bit for ET's.
Shoot me an email directly if you have any questions on the kit, the install, pricing, or performance.

Detroit speed works also installed my T-76 kit. When i was on stock engine with the T-76 at 5psi and pump gas i "only" made 385/430 to the wheels on their mustang dyno. this was with a M6 and 3.42 stock 10 bolt. had alot of power would have been over 400 on a dynojet. Had over a 100rwhp increase.
i put a built lower 9:1 cr motor in and had them retune and i got 512/536 on their mustang dyno. at 10psi pump gas.
Im thinking about going to stage 3 early so i'll give you a call sometime this week Greg. need to talk some stuff over with you.

I still have the kit and as of now I plan on canabalizing the 60-1 (and maybe the intercooler) that came with my turbotech kit to make my own custom twin-turbo setup. I'm going all out this time. New engine management, completely new fuel system, ported heads, big cam, forged 8.5cr motor.
Motor blew-up because I was stupid. I installed a boost controller and inadvertently ran about 12+psi for a little while.
12psi + stock cr + 91octane = RIP stock engine
when it was all said and done I had a block with two cracks in it, a shattered piston, a bent rod, and three or four rings blown out.
