Gauging interest on Custom Large Hi. Imp. Injectors
If we get a group of 10 or more people we can get injectors built to whatever size within reason we want - all 80 or more must be the same size, so let's figure out some sizing that you guys think would meet your high power setup's needs.
I'm thinking somewhere in the 72-83# range rated at 38psi so on an LS1 it would be even larger, or enough to support around 1,000 hp.
The turn around time is about 1 month and pricing should be around $500 or possibly less, let me know what you think!
if they can be made i am sure they would sell.
I'd think 83#'ers would be the next size to make it worthwhile., though since I am at 42's, just about ANY odd size bigger than 50's is better than what I have.
Questions I'd have are:
Who would buld them?
Would they compare in quality and ease of tuning to, say, the SVO's?
Since they are custom, what happens if one quits? Would they have built a few spares to replace a defective injector found in the batch during some operation in the customer's vehicle? (The car has been parked enough, lately.)
I can tell you I could not contribute money to ANYTHING until after Christmas. My wife is upset with me now. (Where did all your money go?
im interested in some biggies like the 83's, if your going to go big, why not get the biggest.
I think that the reason to go to low impedance injectors is to cut down on precious rise time. The peak and hold moves the plunger (pintle) in and out of the bore more quickly, like this: |-------+ vs. high impedance saturation type which takes time to move in and out of the bore, like this: /-------\.
The time saved here is significant enough to allow more fuel per injector pulse.

OK Professor Matt, please correct my error, and teach us the rest. Thanks.

I am gonna go with low imped. 83's so I will have to figure out a plan to make all the parts work.
OK, They gave me bad info, I just checked with the source and indeed 55#@42.5psi is the largest possible and will be ready in 2 weeks, that is still a good sized injector at LS1 fuel pressures, probably enough for around 750-800 hp(perfect world calculations say 875hp), at our pressures they come close to a 75# injector, let me know if you guys are still interested, if we get 10 sets the price is $425 plus shipping

If the price is $425, you've got a sale!
