Default Bottom End Questions....Experts Step inside please....

After I get enough $ gathered up after I'm done paying off the supercharger I am soon to get I am going to look into putting rods and pistons in...

I was looking to do $500 eagle rods, and the $500 diamond 9:1 compression pistons....

I would probably also upgrade rod bolts, oil pump, timing chain, etc....

What kind of boost could I put through something like that...

(stock crank, forged rods, low compression pistons)

I am going to start of running 7psi when I get the kit on my current setup....10.3:1 compression

BIGBOS. Exactly what eagle rods and diamond pistons are you getting and where? Defenitely do the rod bolts. The rods aren't nearly as bad as people claim, its the bolts. Did you put in 6.0L heads to achieve the 10.3-1 c/r? Good question, I was just wondering this myself.
How much hp and tq can a stock crank handle and what would it cost for a forged unit? I'm the kind of guy that once I'm in there, do it all. I'm planning on LS1MS kit and although they say the stock block is fine, I'm a little skeptical.

I think our sponsers carry the rods and pistons, I know for a fact you can get them through one of the sponsers on here, there was a lot of talk about it before, on cheap ways to build up the bottom end...

Harlan is using a stock crank and he has over 700rwhp and 700rwtq..... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I have MTI S2 "stock compression" heads, I think stock they are rated at 10.3:1 compression or just 10:1, I haven't gotten a clear answer on that yet though, either way, I can get away with running 7psi.....

Forged cranks can get pretty expensive, it all depends on how much $ you want to spend... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
