question regarding ATI D-1SC

question regarding ATI D-1SC I have a stock interal LS1 engine. Read the sig for what I have done. Question is, what do I need to do to get 10lbs of boost into the car safely? Obviously upgrade the fuel injectors and pump. But what exactly would you do (or have done) regarding that amount of boost. Would you do forged internals? Does the stock compression work safely with this amount of boost? Would I have to go forged internals?

P.S. I would also be doing a drivetrain upgrade to support the boost as well.

Re: question regarding ATI D-1SC I think your biggest problem on the stock setup may be keeping the heads down and avoiding blowing gaskets. Another problem is octane. You will have to raise it a few points above 93 to keep it from detonating when you are racing or into it a lot. And gas varies. (Sometimes 93 just ain't 93.)
I think you are relistically limited to 7 or 8 PSI at most if you want the stock engine to last.
Foreged internals and a .5 drop in static compression may make that safe with stock displacement for a long time.

Re: question regarding ATI D-1SC TByrne Motorsports has a complete kit with the ATI D-1SC, fuel injectors, fuel pump, and custom programming for around $5300. If you go with that kit you don't have to worry about mixing and matching parts. You can start with 8PSI and then pulley up to 10PSI when you build your bottom end, get better heads, etc.
