One thing i would reccomend BOS is to get your heads flowed to dicate the lift of your cam

if all your useable airflow peaks @ .570...you only need a cam with lift to about .550 or so

I would agree with jim on this one too BOS. Cams dont need to be very large or aggressive with boost. As jim has proved and many other street driven LT1s have.

As long as you have good cylinder heads, the power will be there. For instance...i have a hydraulic FLAT TAPPET cam in my turbo motor

it has 232/232 duration. But to have the lift i need (.515) i needed something with more duration because of the flat tappet nature. If i had a roller i could use the same lift (if not even more) and run less duration cuz of the roller design

I would rather go off of MTI's S2 flow #'s then to actually have my heads flowed...

I will most likely go with that cam I picked out of the ones jim listed...

I have called Comp Cams, on this subject. I have a 224/224/561/561/112LSA in my SS right now. The car is currently having a twin turbo(CAS) installed, and I have decided to run it as is. Comp told me that unless you will be pushing 10+ lbs, the overlap should not have a drastic effect. I am being set up for 6lbs, I guess we will se soon......Ang

I think I've made my final decision...

214/218 .540/.550 114lsa 112icl

I think that should perform well, I was going to go with the one over 220 duration, but after talking with a few people I was told to stay under that...

So we will see what happens.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Jim, would there be any advantage to running any degree of advance, and would you be able to use X-ER lobes with this setup, or is that too aggressive?

That's what I would go with.

You could go with X-ER lobes, but I don't like them.

I would personally go with a Cam Motion grind over Comp anyway.

Yes, we sell Cam Motion.

What's the main difference between Cam Motion and Comp?

I guess other than being different companys, I agree with alot more of the things that Cam Motion does.

Just my personal preference.

Cam motion is a little too expensive...I'm gonna stick with the comp grind...

how about a comp grind

214/224 114lsa .521/.533

made over 600rwhp on Z06 in vette magazine with a d-1sc heads and cam. Its a CNC cylinder heads grind, but I think Tbyrne has something almost identical. Also peak power was at 5700rpm.

I want to keep the duration lower than 220's...the most impressive #'s supposly are coming out of the cars with the more less aggressive blower cams...

I can't wait to see what happens with this setup, anyone have and guesses as to what kind of power increase I will see here?
