Harlan is running low impedance injectors with a converter box. I believe they are mid 80's.

Not sure which brand.

prety sure harlen has 96's, i see no reason why anyone would want to risk an injector that is too small when you can get the next size up easily. why not figure 80% duty cycle and .6BSFC like the experts tell you to and be on the safe side.

would 42's be big enuff, probably, if you push them. why risk it?

and using those numbers 650fwhp, .6BSFC, 80% dutycycle, 55psi fuel presure looks like you should go strait to the 55lb units

Are 42# injectors enough to safely and reliably handle 600+ RWHP?

My opinion is no.

I really appreciate all the comments!

Those 50's still look good to me.

BTW- I'll be tuning with LS1-Edit on a Mustang dyno so hopefully I'll be able to get them dialed in. The guy helping me is one of the top tuners here in Denver. My main concern is I don't want to have to buy injectors twice. Seams like 42's are on the border line.

Tons of good info here!

The fuel pressure regulator is boost referenced. It adds 1psi fuel pressure for every 1psi in manifold pressure. Not really adding fuel, just equaling out the pressure differential under vacuum/boost.

Has anyone brought a high impedence 50# injector over the 700rw mark?

I have Ford 42# injectors, high flow fuel rails, #10 feed line, #6 return line, 2 Air Tech 225L external pumps in parallel, and a high flow fuel fuel filter. I am stilling running rich at almost WOT. O2 sensors read: B1S1= 0.95 and B2S1= 0.97

No one seems to have anything good to say about the 50 lb/hr injectors.

What would you say is the single most important mod in it that helps you with the flow from the 42's? How many PSI of fuel pressure are you running?

With stock fuel pressure, I can't get enough fuel to lean it out anymore above 6200 RPMs (using hte RPM/PE table).

Thanks.

My calcs show you'll need more than a single 255lph pump to support 50# injectors FWIW.

I wasn't talking to him directly.
Just noting that most of us with singles can't max out the 42's. So make sure you have the pump before you worry you need bigger than 42's.

I guess the altitude keeps me running rich right now. I just have a minimum tune for now. I will get it tuned in completely once I get a new tranny. It does not want to go into third very esily at WOT. Anyway, I would hope that if I kept the tune like it is now and then go to sea level that it would even out. Who knows. Any way, here is a pic of the pump set up. It is hard to tell from it, but that feed line is as big as a garden hose.

I believe he called them Air Techs 225L. I have no in-tank pump. Here is another pic of the fuel system.
