Default How well does the dual walbro in tank setup work?

Finally all my parts are ready. My engine is 418 c.i.d. , I have ported 6.0 heads (2.08 x 1.60), 9:5 to 1 compression. I have the new 55 lb. high impedance injectors coming. Now I am looking at fuel delivery. I am leaning towards the dual Walbro in tank setup. I hate how loud my current T-rex in-line is. I e-mailed Agostino and they recommended the dual Walbro (they said my stock lines and rails should be fine, though I have read some post here that say otherwise). I would like to get it right the first time. I read a post that said the Dual Walbro was loud from all the excess fuel being returned through the lines which might also heat up the fuel. My goal is 600 hp but I'll take anything over. I am going to go with a different blower, probably the T-trim but I might go with the S-trim SQ for the quietness. Any help on the fuel pump issue is greatly appreciated.

the stock lines/rails will probably make it to 600, that is my goal as well, but i wanted to over-do it a bit so i redid the lines/rails as well

in my post i said both pumps were very quiet (as quiet as stock) in the tank, but i had a noise up at the front of the car that was just the sound of the fuel flowing through the regulator <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> the pumps themselves are as quiet as stock

just drive on one pump and then kick the second pump in when you need it so you dont overheat the gas.

if i were you, i would still redo the fuel lines/regulator/rails for good measure.. fuel system is NOT where you want to cut corners

plus, this will set you up for much more hp capability, instead of building for JUST enough.

You know any fuel injected car operates with excessive fuel pressure at all times and constantly returns the fuel. Just take an old E.F.I. Ford for example that is regulated at 30psi. If you clamp off the return line it dead heads at about 100 psi. So maybe its really nothing to worry about. I would like to avoid the idea of switching on one of the pumps unless it appears to be neccessary. Mightymouse, I read a post where you say the noise seems to have gone away. What do you think was going on? I really like the ease of install + the quiet operation if this setup is up to the task. I will probably just do the pumps at this time because of money. Another question for Mightymouse, did you copy Racetronix or Agostino, or is this your own design? Are there pictures of how these companies do it so that I could do it myself? Thanks for the replies.

i dont know how either place did it, i did it my own way to save a hundred bux or so over what they charge, not to mention what they supply to the best of my knowledge still uses the stock pressure line which was a restriction for me.

the noise was from soo much fuel maxing out my pressure regulator at idle, i just have one of the pumps turned off at the moment and that cut the flow in half so the return can handle it.. when my demand goes up, im planning on cutting the second pump on at 5psi.. its better this way anyhow because its silly to be cycling my tank full of fuel every 10 minutes or whatever it works out to.

one of those pumps can do almost 600 rw, so to be running two of them at idle is just a lot of returned fuel.

now, if you ran two stock pumps in the same way i have these, you could probably still support over 600rwhp and it may not overwork the regulator...and use the stock lines, very cheap.. nobodies tried that.
