Default Here's what I'm thinking...

I currently have a 448rwhp/435rwtq setup with 6.0L heads, and comp cam, MMS dyno tuned PCM, 28lb injectors, ASP pulley, etc etc etc.

My CR is 10.8:1, so I want to add boost, but I can't. So here is what I'm thinking....

Sell my heads and cam combo. Port my stock LS1 heads, slap in Z06 springs and retainers, and get a Z06 cam. Add a 9PSI ati procharger. Enjoy 520-530rwhp.

In the summer, leave the LS1 bottom end, but get JE pistons, 9.0:1 and crower rods, and ARP bolts. Add a bigger pulley, maybe 12-15psi, and have around 600rwhp.

It should do 600rwhp, idle like stock, and pass smog (not visual).

What do you guys think? Any suggestions on what kind of port to get for my stock LS1 heads? Anyone sell a Z06cam/springs/retainers package?

Thanks guys!!

I plan on doing something identical to that at the end of this upcoming summer...

Stock Crank, Stock Block, Forged Rods, Diamond 9:1 compression pistons, good rod bolts, ARP head bolts, cometic gaskets, stay with the cam thats getting installed over the weekend (214/218 .540/.550 114lsa) I will use the MTI S2 heads that I have now, I have ferra valves (2.055/1.57) I will probably go to a 1.60 exhaust valve though...stay with the 5.7L setup...

I will get the MMS crank pully so I can get boost easier, and run like 12psi, make around 625rwhp, and hopefully run on pump gas, go to 15psi on race gas <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" />

I wouldn't be suprised if its a heads/cam car, there are a lot of cars now hitting the 440 rwhp marker, I remember thinking 420 was a lot

Understandable.

The ports in the heads are done for good streetability and torque. They keep velocity real high. The exhaust flows 84% of the intake, which is way above the 75% standard.

Where do you guys think I can send my LS1 heads to get some good port work for a decent price? What kind of port work is recommended for a blower setup?

What kind of numbers are people putting down with ported LS1 heads, and Z06 cam? I have hooker headers, hooker ypipe, mufflex 4" catback, ls6 intake manifold, etc etc.

What kind of valves should I get for the heads? I'm trying to keep it as simple and cheap as possible while making it a good reliable blower setup. Will stock valves be ok?

Thanks guys!!

You could go with big valves, 2.08/1.60, is 6.0L heads, that would be good for boost, I'm sure MTI or ARE could port the heads for you...

You should also consider different cams besides the Z06 cam, there are many cams you can choose that would be better than that..

VINCE - here is my car http://www.prostreetonline.com/pso/p...ars.asp?view=6

I was thinking of Z06 cam, because I want to be able to pass smog, and not set off the cops with my idle. There are a lot in my area (I live in a good quiet neighborhood, and I'm the loudest here).

I will agree with VINCE, the current H/C setup is making some damn good power, I would just swap to a blower cam..

I am putting the 214/218 .540/.550 114lsa 112icl cam in my car, and that will pass emissions, gives good cylinder pressure as well..

I would get some cometic gaskets, you just need to get the compression down..

Yeah, the only problem is the compression, and the big cam! it's awesome to drive, but is too loud, and the idle gets lots of attention... sounds like a big block!

Yea, these cams won't pass emissions, the cam I'm getting installed probably won't lope that much, but it will be good enough to make a ton of power... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
