Default Boost on a D1SC

About a month ago i did a cam swap and put it all back together now the boost is only going up to about 5-6 lbs. What is controling the boost? I know there has to be at least another 2 lbs in it.

what cam did you put in?

you'll lose a little bit of boost with the cam cause its making your motor more efficient now. Now ya just gotta pulley up to get it back where it was.

I was running a 4.25" pulley with my Comp 224/228 .581/.588 114lsa cam and I was seeing about 8.5psi at 7k rpms and about 7psi at 6200rpms or so. I am changing my pulley to a 3.85" this Sunday that I bought from Bob at EPP and I am hoping to see close to 8psi at 6krpms or atleast before 6200 I hope!

Whats size is your pulley now? I know you can order pulleys direct through Procharger and they are only like $85 or so!

Anytime you change cams, cylinder heads, add headers, exhaust, etc, it can have an effect on the boost that will be made. Almost everytime you change from a stock camshaft to a performance grind, the boost that the blower can make will be lower.
Since you have a forged bottom end you can shoot for 12 psi or more, but you will want to get your car retuned. Bob

How diffacult is the head unit to remove? I know that the pulley is faceing the alternator. I think that the pulley size is whatever came from procharger.

easy...... its 5 bolts.... uses allen heads..... one bigger one and 4 smaller ones...... then reset tension back on your tensioner if you dont need a smaller belt already... wich u probably will.

hell no not prochrager... they will sell u a Gates belt for like $40 + 12 to ship it when u can go to Napa or Auto zone and buy one for like $17

what size pulleys first of all and what length do u need.... if u order a smaller blower pulley order the pulley from ATI and ask them the belt length and get it local.... and what ever u do dont tell who ever you buy it from its for a blower....... that way if u destroy it most of the time they will replace it for free... ha ha
