Holy crap that is a seriously night and day torque to horsepower curve. I don't know if I can belive that a FWD neon with 340whp(and no torque to speak of) can hit 11.7 unless he utterly gutted the hell out of that car.

Regardless, it's an impressive ride. Congrats to your buddy.

The bottom line is actually the airfuel ratio look over to the right side of the graph and thats what that line is used for.Its an australian type Dyno, Called a Dyno Dynamics dyno. Its an Import Shops dyno here in my local area. I believe his tq range is in the low 300 area.

Even if you want to compare a Neon to an F-body, they weigh almost 600 lbs less than us. Displacement is totally irrelevant in your argument since they are turbocharged and last I checked the LS1 is not

A healthy T3/T4 or similar setup would certainly be a recipe for an easy 11 second Neon, I have to give Dodge props for this!

And as for the dangerous soccer moms now having boost comment, I would much rather be hit by a Neon than an Excursion any frickin day of the month!

Must have had a brain fart on that one. I'm still curious how he hit 11.7 on 340whp. I tried looking at his time slip but it's really difficult to read. It looks like he trapped at 116, but I can't make out a 60' on that slip. It's impressive none-the-less but I am curious how he hit that time.

Thanks for clearing up the confusing.

He ran a 11.79@116.6 mph on a 1.6 60 foot, He does run slicks. The car weighs about 2700 lbs. Its much faster now than the 11.7 run. He is probably going to hit high 10's this year with his bigger turbo and the car is this guys only car and will remain streetable, drives it everyday.
The guy can drive really good to.He is still running stock head no work done to it, and stock cams. Plenty of more power to be made with this car.

BTW The timeslip can be enlarged if you click on it so you can see the time very clearly.

2000 WS6,
Personally I thought his weight would have been much less seeing some of the pics of the inside of that car. Impressive times though. A 1.6 on a FWD is crazy fast. Most of the low 12/high 11 fwd cars I've seen(and I can count them on one hand) haven't gotten anywhere near that 60' and trap extremely high compared to their ET.

What kind of tranny does he use to hook all that power up?

Mike

Stock 5 speed tranny, he leaves off the line on a 2 step.

Here is a video of his car running 1/8 when his car dynoed 300 at the front wheels. This was a few weeks before he ran his 11.7

I am glad I upgraded the Formula. At 600rwhp I think I can keep them at bay.

My wife currently drives an Eclipse GT but has been looking for a "Family Car" for under $20K. Bet you can't guess what I'm thinking
