Re: ??Some questions about wastegates and using one in a SC'd application?? I think what you are looking for is a pop off value. HKS sells them for like 50 bucks. All it is a spring-loaded value that opens when the boost is high enough to open it. I used to have one on my 3rd gen rx7, if for some reason the boost spiked past my desired 15psi, the valve would open so the car would only get 15psi, even if the turbo was putting out 18psi.
If you look at the attached picture the pop off valve is located on the drivers side of the intercooler. Little shinny thing with the bolt coming out the top.
